Lenovo is offering 50% off of its Smart Frame if you sign up early

Lenovo's 21.5-inch Smart Frame was announced at CES and is coming in August, but the company announced today that you can get 50% off of the $399 price tag if you sign up now on IndieGoGo.

At CES this year, Lenovo introduced its Smart Frame, a 21.5-inch digital picture frame. It has lots of features you'd expect, such as adjusting the color tone based on the ambient light in the room so it looks more like a picture frame than a screen. You can also rotate it 90 degrees.

The Smart Frame is set to arrive in August for $399, but Lenovo is announcing today that if you sign up now, you can get 50% off of that price. Signing up will get you access to the discounted pre-orders on IndieGoGo, which are obviously in limited supply at that price.

The idea here is to build a community around the product, something that we've seen other companies, like OnePlus, do in recent years to gain traction. That way, enthusiasts can provide feedback on the product, requesting features that they want to see in future iterations of the Smart Frame.
