Microsoft announces a bunch of features coming to the Xbox app

Alongside of new games that are coming to Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft today announced a bunch of new features that are coming to its Xbox app, such as the ability to find friends on other networks.

Microsoft held its Inside Xbox briefing for gamescom 2019 today, where it made a wide array of announcements. Alongside new games coming to Xbox Game Pass, the firm also announced a range of new features coming to the Xbox app.

The first new feature is that you'll be able to find friends on other networks. You can find friends on Facebook and Steam, and you can link accounts from YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Discord, and Reddit so people can follow your game stream.

There are new filter options in the sidebar, which are meant to make managing your collection of games easier. Microsoft also said that when downloading a game, it will be easier to choose which drive you're downloading it to.

Lastly, Microsoft is making some improvements to the Xbox Game Pass app, which will now support Xbox Game Pass for PC. You'll be able to download games to your PC "anytime and anywhere".

Some of these features are available now in the Xbox (Beta) app, and Microsoft also said that some of them are arriving in the coming weeks.
