Today, Microsoft is releasing Edge 90 to the Beta channel, right on time as indicated by the release schedule. It's the latest major update for the browser, and it should arrive in the Stable channel in four weeks.
As for what's new, a big new feature is called Kids Mode. It's sort of like a sandboxed area of the browser that's designed for 5-8 and 9-12 age groups. It uses Bing SafeSearch to make sure that kids get "friendly content", and there's a pre-defined allow list, although that can be customized. Also in Kids Mode, you'll find kid-friendly articles, custom browser themes, and privacy is set to Strict for tracking prevention.
To get started, you can find Kids Mode in the profile picker, and it doesn't even have to use a Microsoft account. After all, there's no tracking and no ads on the new tab page, so an account doesn't serve much of a purpose.
That's not all though, because this has all of the features that Dev channel users have been testing for weeks. For example, it's easier to manage Collections, there are more PDF improvements as usual, and more. There's even a new way to get cash back when shopping.
As always, your Edge Beta browser will update in the background with the new bits. But if you just can't wait for that to happen, head over to Settings -> About Microsoft Edge to manually update.
