Microsoft is offering up to 42% off PCs and notebooks, plus a free 8-inch Windows 10 tablet

You can now get up to 42% off a wide range of desktops, notebooks, tablets and 2-in-1s, including many affordable options - and if you buy a PC for over $699, you'll also get a free 8-inch tablet.

Manufacturers from around the world have been showing off all sorts of impressive new Windows 10 devices at the IFA industry expo in Berlin this week - from the stylish HP Elite Slice and Pavilion Wave, to the unconventional Lenovo Yoga Book, and the monstrous Acer Predator 21 X gaming notebook with a curved display.

Of course, many of the new machines shown off this week won't be available for a while, and some will come with eye-watering price tags attached. But if you're on the lookout for a new PC in the US right now, you might want to check out the Microsoft Store, where you can currently get up to 42% off a wide range of desktops, tablets, notebooks, 2-in-1s, and all-in-ones.

The savings aren't limited to just the most expensive devices either - here's a selection of some of the more affordable options:
