Microsoft is releasing Edge 83 to the Beta channel today

Today, Microsoft is releasing Edge 83 to the Beta channel, as the firm announced via Twitter. The browser replaces Edge 81, as Chromium 82 was skipped over for all Chromium browsers. There's actually quite a bit that's new, even though Microsoft hasn't updated its release notes just yet.

Obviously, if you follow the Dev and Canary builds, then you've seen everything that's arriving in Beta today. One new feature is more inking options for PDF. You can now choose the colors that you ink with, and more. Immersive Reader now has line focus, and you can add multiple tabs to Collections.

One other minor thing that's new is that if your device isn't connected to the internet, the error page will have a button that links to the Surf game that's included in the browser. Of course, you can always access the game by going to edge://surf, but it's something to do until you come back online.

There are sure to be lots of fixes and minor new features included in the build, but again, Microsoft hasn't published release notes. As always, the browser will update automatically in the background, or you can force the update by going to About Microsoft Edge in the app's settings.
