Microsoft said to have sold 720K Xbox One consoles during Black Friday week

It is being reported that Microsoft sold over 720,000 Xbox One consoles on Black Friday which is a new record of any console sales on that day; price cuts and bundles played a huge role.

Microsoft did everything it could to make the Xbox One the most attractive console this holiday season. With a $50 price cut, bundles, and even deeper price cuts at some retailers, the Xbox One is positioned to win this holiday season.

VGchartz is reporting that Microsoft sold 721,569 consoles during the Black Friday week which ended on November 29th. Obviously, this means that it beat out the Wii U and the PS4 and points towards strong holiday sales this year.

This is exactly the type of news Microsoft needs right now as the company works to come from behind and overtake the PS4 which has been besting the console in sales for most of this generation. With the price cut and bundles that can give up to three free games, Microsoft has made a strong case for its platform.

Microsoft said that the $50 price cut is only temporary when it was announced but we suspect that they will make the discount permanent after the holiday shopping season ends.
