Microsoft Surface Go 2 receives June firmware update

Microsoft is rolling out a June 2020 firmware update to Surface Go 2 owners. The new update brings minor improvements to the device including improvements to the pen performance and more.

Earlier this month, Microsoft released the June 2020 firmware updates to all the Surface devices including Surface Pro 7, Laptop 3, Surface Pro X and Surface Studio. Microsoft has now released the firmware update for Surface Go 2 users with the following improvements:

Windows Update History Name

Device Manager Name

Version and Update

Elantech Ltd. – Firmware - 64.26.0.0

Surface Touch - Firmware

64.26.0.0

  • improves pen performance when your palm is on the device.

Surface – Firmware – 1.0.1.0

Surface UEFI – Firmware

1.0.1.0

  • improves system stability.

There are no known issues with the June 2020 firmware update.

June 2020 firmware update is available for all the Surface Go 2 devices running Windows 10 November 2019 Update or later. However, firmware updates cannot be uninstalled or reverted so it may be best to wait before installing them.

To manually install the new firmware updates, you will have to head to Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update and click on 'Check for updates'.
