Microsoft takes a shot at Apple's iPad Pro in new Surface ad

Microsoft today released an advertisement for the Surface Pro 4, where the company compares the device to an iPad Pro. The video is a response to one that Apple released a couple of weeks ago.

Microsoft today released a video advertisement for the Surface Pro 4. In the video, Apple's iPad Pro is throwing a party because it finally got a keyboard. Speaking with Siri's voice, it declares, "I'm a computer now".

Cortana responds with condescension, "So you have more power, like an Intel Core i7 processor?" Siri once again tries to defend the iPad Pro by saying that it has a keyboard, and Cortana throws some shade at the Office mobile apps.

The video is clearly a response to one that Apple made a couple of weeks ago. Titled "iPad Pro — What’s a Computer?", Microsoft surely meant to point out that simply having a keyboard doesn't make a device a computer.

Without taking sides, it's always fun to watch Microsoft and Apple go toe-to-toe in such a way. It will be interesting to see whether Apple responds with another ad, or if it sticks to the high road. After all, there's really not much that the company could say to promote the iPad Pro in direct comparison with the Surface Pro 4.
