Microsoft Teams for Android and iOS gets a new update

Microsoft has released a new update for Microsoft Teams app for Android and iOS. The latest update brings a long list of new features and changes for both the Android and iOS apps.

On Android, Microsoft has finally added support for creating tags to @mention a specific group of people and the app now allows you to opt-out of call queues. You can check out the full release notes for the update below:

  • Create tags to @mention a specific group of people. On a team name, tap ... > Manage tags to make a tag.
  • Opt out of call queues
  • Notification reliability improvements
  • Meeting join reliability improvements
  • Bug fixes and performance improvements

On iOS, Microsoft is adding the ability to create tags to @mention a specific group of people along with the ability to blur background and more. You can check out the full release notes for the update below:

  • Create tags to @mention a specific group of people. On a team name, tap ... > "Manage tags" to make a tag.
  • Blur your background in calls and meetings
  • Turn on live captions during a meeting or group call
  • View shared content when you join a meeting via a cellular phone call

  • Meeting join reliability improvements
  • Bug fixes and performance improvements
