Microsoft updates core apps ahead of Windows 10 release

Microsoft has pushed out a round of core app updates for Windows 10, ahead of its release on the 29th of July. Several of the Office universal apps also received updates and under-the-hood improvements.

Those include:

  • Word Mobile
  • PowerPoint Mobile
  • Excel Mobile
  • OneNote
  • Outlook Mail and Calendar
  • People
  • Groove
  • TV+Film
  • Phone Companion
  • Alarm
  • News
  • Money
  • Calculator
  • Windows Camera

Those are the ones we know about, though other apps are bound to get a updated as well, to get them ready for primetime.

As for changes, there's not much to report. The Mail app gets an "Accounts" button for a (slightly) easier way to switch between multiple accounts. Not much else is known about the updates and it's unlikely that new features were added, but if you spot anything new, let us know in the comments below.

The updates can be downloaded right now by checking the Store app for updates.
