Microsoft today announced the release of two new agents for Microsoft 365 Copilot for commercial customers. Using these new agents, users will be able to create apps, workflows, and agents just using their natural language prompts.
App Builder is a new Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent that can create and deploy custom business apps in a few minutes. The created apps can include dashboards, charts, calculators, lists, and more. Just like refining text content with any AI tool, users can preview and refine the app through further prompting within the Copilot experience.
Once the app is created, it can be shared within the organization using a link similar to how documents are shared. To store data, instead of a complex database setup, these apps will be using Microsoft Lists in the backend.
Workflows is a new Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent that can automate tasks like sending emails, setting up meetings, etc. To create an automated task, users just have to describe what they want, and this agent can convert the prompt into automated flows across Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Planner, and other services.
Users can also adjust and refine the workflow through natural language if required. These new workflows are built on the same infrastructure that powers Agent Flows in the full Copilot Studio experience.
Microsoft today also announced a new lightweight Copilot Studio experience inside Copilot that will allow users to create productivity-focused agents easily. If an agent needs to be scaled, users can use the full Copilot Studio experience for advanced workflows, model selection, and more.
The new App Builder and Workflows agents are now available in the Agent Store for enterprise customers in the Copilot Frontier program. These new no-code agents have potential to democratize app development and automation within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
