Nintendo announces Splatoon 2 'Global Testfire' event for Switch in March

We are only a few weeks away from the release of Nintendo's latest console, the Switch, and while there will only be a handful of titles available at launch, it appears that Splatoon 2 will arrive as demo towards the end of March.

Although Splatoon 2 won't arrive in its official form until summer, it appears that Nintendo will offer a test play session of the game for three days. The demo will be available as a digital download and will allow players to battle against each other starting March 24. The demo period will be in hour blocks, with the event schedule down below.

  • March 24: 12-12:59pm PT, 8-8:59pm PT
  • March 25: 4-4:59am PT, 12-12:59pm PT, 8-8:59pm PT
  • March 26: 4-4:59am PT

According to the Nintendo YouTube page, the content of the demo is similar to what is playable at Nintendo's Switch Tour that is currently touring North America. The demo will offer:

"Four different main weapons, including the new Splat Dualies, as well as remixed versions of the iconic Splat Roller and Splat Charger."

The Nintedno Switch will arrive to stores on March 3 for $299.99. In order to prepare for the launch, Nintendo will roll out 2 million consoles globally in just the first month.
