OS X 10.4.6 seeded to developers

Exactly one week after Apple rolled out Mac OS X 10.4.5 to the general public, Apple has released the first build of the Mac OS X 10.4.6, the sixth minor update to Mac OS X "Tiger" since it's release last April, to developers. The build was released for both the new Intel-based (build 8I1102) and PowerPC-based (build 8I109) systems.

While the Intel build places emphasis on the ongoing improvements to the company's Rosetta emulation environment for Mac OS X for Intel, the remainder of the enhancements are common amongst both builds.

The update currently delivers about 50 documented improvements, including several OpenGL-related fixes, improvements to CoreImage and CoreGraphics, and other bug corrections for iSync, AppleScript, and other components. Known issues with the update include certain AppleScripts not running correctly and Safari hanging in some situations.

The builds weigh in at 130.9MB (build 8I109) and 166.2MB (build 8I1102) in Combo Updater form.
