Rage 2 set to be 'the most insane open-world shooter' ever made

Rage 2's gameplay trailer shown at E3 today highlighted the upcoming post-apocalyptic game's story, fluid combat and colourful setting. It is set to be released in spring of next year.

Avalanche Studios id Software gave us an extended look at Rage 2 today with an extended gameplay trailer at Bethesda's E3 conference.

The trailer showed off the game's large open world, chaotic vehicle combat and gunplay mechanics that look like the most satisfying amalgam of Mass Effect's bionic power and the insane, fast-paced shooting of DOOM. A plethora of different guns and abilities will be at players' fingertips.

Rage 2's world looks particularly quaint, too, with different factions and lumbering giants to fight.

It is slated for launch on Xbox One, PS4 and PC sometime in spring next year. The extended video comes a month after the release of a near two minute trailer.
