Sifu developer Sloclap had an explosive launch for Rematch just a few weeks ago, but the slow rollout of updates has been a major pain point for players. Now, the developer is kicking off a beta program to test out upcoming patches before they deploy to everyone. The second major patch for Rematch is now a part of this program, and while crossplay is not ready just yet, it is on the horizon.
The beta program is not available on all platforms either, with only Steam players on PC gaining the benefit. The beta will appear as a new option on the Steam library for easy access. "This Patch 2 build is now deployed on the Rematch Beta App, for about 5 hours until 9pm CEST, so that we can make sure that no issues appear with more players connected to the game," explains the developer.
Rematch Patch 2 Beta is now live via this program, and the development team is targeting the problematic netcode, which has been causing gameplay issues like tackles not registering and bugged goalkeeper save rollbacks. A feedback form for beta players on Steam can be found here.
The beta progression won't be tied to the main game as well, and only 3v3 and 4v4 options will be available for matchmaking. Find the complete patch notes over here, which touts a quite large number of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks. There is even a known issues section that lists the popular Ippy Slide glitch move, meaning a removal should be in the works.
Sloclap added that Rematch Patch 3 is almost here, with it currently being readied to launch before the end of August. The hugely requested crossplay feature to combine players from PC, Xbox, and PlayStation is slated to be a part of this update, alongside even more bug fixes and changes.
