Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray rip finds its way online ahead of physical release

We're a little over a week away from the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Blu-ray / DVD and it looks like the Blu-ray version of the film has leaked online.

Although this is common for most movies, there is little doubt that Disney is disappointed with the early unauthorized release of the film to illegal torrent sites. Unfortunately, not much can be done once the movie is pressed to disc, as there is, inevitably, a bad apple somewhere in the process who will smuggle a copy to the outside world.

During the first 12 hours of release, the film was downloaded 250,000 times. Naturally, Disney has attempted to have the film removed from the Internet, but of course, is impossible.

While Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be officially released on Blu-ray / DVD on April 5th, Amazon and other official digital content providers will offer the digital copy of the film for download prior to the films physical release.
