T-Mobile confirms Android 7.0 Nougat will finally roll out to Galaxy Note5 next week

Sprint, AT&T and Verizon have already upgraded the Galaxy Note5 to Android 7.0 - but T-Mobile has confirmed that the Nougat update has now been approved and owners "should start to see it next week".

Google released Android 7.0 Nougat eight months ago, and Samsung began upgrading its devices to that version in January, starting with its Galaxy S7 and S7 edge flagships.

For the Galaxy Note5, Samsung's rollout commenced over a month ago, and since then, the update has made its way to that device on Sprint, then on AT&T, and finally on Verizon in recent weeks. Meanwhile, owners of the device on T-Mobile have been left a little frustrated by the continued wait for a taste of that Nougat goodness.

That wait is almost at an end. T-Mobile confirmed that it has now approved the Android 7.0 update for the Galaxy Note5, and its customers "should start to see it early next week".

It's not yet clear which version of the monthly Android security patches will be included with that rollout. A few days ago, T-Mobile brought the March security update to its Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge, two weeks after the April patches had been released.
