As announced previously, Google planned to shut down Google Hangouts; today is the official date for its closure. Users will automatically be redirected to Google Chat instead of Google Hangouts.

Google has announced its plans to migrate all chat records from Google Hangouts to Google Chat. It is disabling Google Hangouts for all Google Workspace and G Suite users from November 1, 2022.
Google has confirmed that it will permanently shutter Hangouts in November 2022. The platform's website, as well as the service, will remain active, and all the data will transfer to Google Chat.
