Global smartphone shipments have shrunk in the fourth quarter of 2022, according to marketing intelligence firm IDC. The total smartphone shipment in 2022 is also the lowest since 2013.

Gartner has revealed that semiconductor revenues won't be as good in 2022 as anticipated during the last quarter. Early figures for 2023 also reveal the sector will see contraction.
Shipments of smartphones globally decreased by 5% in the fourth quarter of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019. Over the whole year, sales declined by more than 12% compared to 2019.
The analyst firm, Gartner, has reported that 3Q20 saw a decline in smartphone sales compared to 3Q19. It said that the next quarter looks better but sales will still be hampered due to COVID-19.
