Telegram has been updated to version 2.5 on the Microsoft Store, the update is available for any device running Windows 10 Mobile, Windows Phone 8.1, and Windows Phone 8. The update brings several small but useful additions, plus the ability to add a bio to your profile, a feature which previously rolled out on Android and iOS.
The full changelog of the release is shown below:
- Add emoji to message by typing ‘:’ + keyword.
- Search through messages of a particular user in any group. To do this, tap ‘...’ in the top right corner when in a group > Search > tap the new ‘Search by member’ icon in the bottom right corner. While searching, select a user to browse all of her messages in the group or add a keyword to narrow down search results.
- Add a bio to your profile by typing a few words about yourself in Settings.
- Set a self-destruct timer for any photos and videos you share in private chats.
The bio feature is a recent addition to Telegram, it’s much like the old Status feature that was present in WhatsApp. By adding a bio, anyone looking for a user can get a brief overview about the user, if any information has been provided. It can quite handy if you want to give people a way to identify you more easily.
