Boring Company releases map of planned LA tunnels

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and The Boring Company, has released a map of where tunnels will be built to make up the Boring network in Los Angeles. The map stretches from Sherman Oaks to Long Beach Airport, but also stops off at Santa Monica, LAX, and Union Station, among other places.

The map depicts a short stretch of the track in red, and the rest in blue. The red indicates the part of the track that will be completed in phase one of the project. The phase one track will connect LA to Culver City and will be used for systems and safety testing, as well as to demonstrate line-switching.

For those who are in the area of phase one and thought that this meant they had an opportunity to get in the tunnels, think again. The phase one tunnel will not be open for the public until city officials and The Boring Company find their results to be successful. Once phase one is complete, work will begin on phase two in collaboration with LA County and others.

The Boring Company stressed in its statement that the phase two line is not yet finalised and will depend upon what comes out of the cooperation between it, LA County, the City of Los Angeles, city governments in greater Los Angeles area, and the general public.
