The Sims Freeplay will not be receiving any more updates on Windows phones

The Sims mobile spin-off, The Sims FreePlay has received its final update on Windows phone devices. However, the game will remain accessible through the store for download and play.

The Sims FreePlay is EA's mobile spin-off of The Sims franchise, and since its release, the game has been in constant development for Android, iOS and Windows phone devices. However, the developers has now announced that it will discontinue support for Windows phones, with the April update being its last.

Players who download the latest update for The Sims FreePlay will receive an in-game notification, seen above, with a message explaining its future update status and expressing gratitude for playing the game.

The developer, Firemonkey Studios, also posted some additional details on their official website, stating that the app will remain available on the store to download and play, albeit without any new content or updates coming to it. Furthermore, technical support will still be available for the title.. Lastly, it recommends the iOS and Android versions of the game as an alternative for players who wish to play with newer updates.
