Two million people have played Microsoft Flight Simulator

Today, Microsoft presented some more statistics for its new Flight Simulator game. Over two million people have played in over 50 million flights, and 9.7 million hours have been watched on Twitch.

Today, Microsoft published an update on the numbers for Flight Simulator, its popular new game. The last update was in September when the company said that there were over a million players. This latest milestone is that there are over two million players.

That's not all though. Those two million players have flown over 50 million flights, which have covered over 3.5 billion miles. That's 19 round trips from the Earth to the Sun. The most popular destination is New York City, while 7,000 pilots have visited Asobo's office and 4,300 have visited Microsoft's office. Microsoft also said that the game has accounted for 9.7 million hours of viewing on Twitch.

The next big update for the game is coming next week, and that's when we'll get VR support. The team said that there's more coming with it though. Everyone is going to get a Flight Simulator-themed livery in the game for the whole fleet, and you'll also be able to use the dog-themed ones from Microsoft's holiday commercial.

Microsoft also reiterated that the game is coming for Xbox Series X|S next summer, and it has three updates planned for the simulation, and that it's going to update the world four-five times, all in 2021.
