Windows Phone faces longest wait for Sonic 4: Episode II

Last month, we reported on the fantastic news that Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II would bring integration between Windows Phone and the Xbox 360, whereby players will be able to save their game on the handset, and resume the same game on the console.

While we had previously heard that the title would land this spring, it seems that that’s still true… though not for the Windows Phone version. PocketGamer reports that the game will first arrive on iOS and Tegra-powered Android devices in mid-May. It will also debut on PSN/SEN on 15 May, and Xbox LIVE Arcade on 16 May.

Other Android handsets won’t be able to download the game from the Google Play Store until June, but Windows Phone owners face the longest wait, and won’t be able to get their greasy paws on it until July.

For now, check out some of the action you can look forward to in this vid from GameSpot:
