Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 2 unboxing and first impressions

Top-down view of the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 2

Lenovo's ThinkBooks are meant for small to medium sized businesses, and they usually offer a lot of value for the price. They're also just great machines, taking the best of ThinkPads and leaving the rest.

Arriving in the office today is the ThinkBook 14 Gen 2. It's got AMD's Ryzen 4000 processors, with this one having the Ryzen 5 4500U. The processor doesn't have SMT, but this laptop is available with AMD's SMT processors like the Ryzen 5 4600U and the Ryzen 7 4800U.

It comes in a dual-tone Mineral Grey color, something that we're seeing a lot of in recent ThinkBooks. As you can see from the image above, it goes for a more minimalist design. The ThinkBook logo is basic but modern, and it doesn't have things like a flashing red dot over the 'i' like we find on ThinkPads.

It's got the fingerprint sensor in the power button, like we've seen before. You can also get it with up to a 60WHr battery, and it comes with two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, both of which support Power Delivery and DisplayPort.
