Every year, Lenovo refreshes its lineup of ThinkPads at CES. This year was no different, and the firm brought on significant improvements to its ThinkPad X1 Carbon, Yoga, and Tablet.
They all include Intel's new eighth-generation U-series processors, which are quad-core. The previous generation was dual-core, so these new machines can get a 30% increase in performance, especially when doing things like running virtual machines, which get clear benefits from more cores.
There's also a physical camera guard, something that's becoming more of a trend in new PCs. Rather than having to put a piece of tape over your webcam, you can now flip a switch to block it.
They also include far-field voice microphones for both Amazon's Alexa and Microsoft's Cortana, so you can use the wake word for whichever one you want to open. With Modern Standby, you can also wake the device with your voice.
And of course, it wouldn't be the X1 Carbon if it wasn't super-light. It comes in at just 2.49 pounds, and Lenovo says that this is the lightest 14-inch business laptop on the market. Check out our unboxing video below:
