The Pixel 4a was supposedly going to be launched by Google in May before being delayed to June and then eventually to July due to market conditions. The latest leak surrounding the device points to its launch being further delayed. As per leaker @Jon_prosser, the device will now seemingly launch in October and in only "Black" color. The exact reason for this delay is not yet clear. He also claims that the Pixel 5 launch has also been delayed.

The Pixel 4a has leaked extensively over the last couple of months. Its camera samples have leaked, its performance has been compared to other mid-range Android devices, and even its retail packaging has leaked. Rumors also peg that there will only be one variant of the device with 128GB storage and that it would retail for $349.
There are speculations that Google could launch the Pixel 4a alongside the Pixel 5 later this year and that the naming of the device could change to make it a part of the Pixel 5 lineup. At this point, it is unclear as to when Google intends to launch the Pixel 4a and under what name. The device is seemingly ready for launch, though for some reason, Google keeps delaying its launch. Irrespective of how good the camera on the Pixel 4a turns out to be and how attractive its price tag is, the delay will definitely have a negative impact on its sales.
