My N7 Collectors Edition (and model SSV Normandy SR2) just shipped :woot: it's so close now! can't wait

Its the 8th for us here in Oz :(

Collectors Edition is all sold out aswell...i'm hoping they have a few on the shelf at the local JB on Thursday though so I can pick it up then.

I know, feels like an age away..still due to the time different our American friends are only getting it a day earlier. As to getting yourself a Collectors Edition on launch day, considering alot of people cancelled their pre-orders over the Origin debarkle (for the PC version) and the more recent Prothean DLC debarkle, I'd say your chances of grabing a copy on Thursday are pretty good (Y).

Those benchmarks are not too promising..i hope my radeon 5850 can handle me3.

it can no problem. i have the same card. if you look up a bunch of benchmarks our card has more horsepower then a 6850 and if you OC it a bit it's faster then a 6870.

people who have used this garbage called origin before... do they do midnight releases? I.E. can I play me3 tonight at midnight?

WOW, wtf that's not "kinda" lame, that's complete bull****.

Now I wish I hadn't watched that. Yeah "spoilers", but the video says "Launch Trailer".

It's really unfortunate that you were spoiled by that video disguised as a launch trailer. :( I removed the link so no one else can get spoiled.

What was spoiler-ish about it?

I don't know for sure. I just heard a voice and assumed it was the ending of Mass Effect 3. Fortunately for me, I only watched a couple of seconds of it.

EDIT: For those that preloaded ME3 on Origin, you can unlock it with FLYVPN (see here). Some people did the same thing when Battlefield 3 was launched earlier in regions outside of North America and Europe. :D

if you want to play it early you can use a hong kong proxy to bypass the release check and download the unencrypted .exe now. just make sure your origin account is in offline mode untill its released in your area. i just did this and it worked fine.

5850 is slightly faster than 6850 and 6850 gets 90+fps in High Detail in 1920x1080, how is that not promising?

he's probably not as knowledgeable as us about the hardware and is going by the model numbers only ;)

like i mentioned earlier

Played the Mass Effect 3 demo and started thinking I should probably get the other 2 and play thru those. I'll play thru it some more tonight but it seemed pretty good. If anything i'll at least try finding ME2.

You should definitely play through the first two, even before you play ME3. They provide a hell of a lot of back story as to what will be going on, and using your previous saves from ME and ME2 will affect how ME3 plays out (meaning that we'll all have different games depending on our choices in the previous game(s)). Some differences may prove quite game changing too. :)

On top of that, they're also epic games. Some of the later cutscenes in ME2 aren't just good for a game, they put a lot of movies to shame too. I'm currently replaying them both (lost my previous saves) to catch up before ME3 comes out, I'm not going to make it (still a few days left of ME2 to go), but frankly I don't care, since I'm thoroughly enjoying playing them.

This topic is now closed to further replies.

    • I can name 10x that on why not to switch.... It's funny outlook/office are going towards web app wrappers, and then MS is now preaching native apps again.... ugh can we just pick a lane and stay in it
    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
