change of weather?

Alonso and Schumi will take the podium I think..

I have a feeling this will be a good race for the RedBulls.

Watching the pre-race coverage - it's overcast, but bone dry at the moment. Silverstone being Silverstone I wouldn't rule out a shower during the race though.

It looks like the race will be run in the dry. Shame.

no problem with having a dry race. then finally everyone WILL see that ferrari has clearly the best car.

after a few laps its already obvious. ferrari the fastest car, schumacher fighting with a difficult car and webber - as always - is just happy to stay behind alonso. he even lifted at the start!

Perez is absolutely right about how Maldonado is getting away with way to much.

btw the BBC has some good side channels, Pitlane video you can listen to all of the conversations between the drivers and pitlane, as well as live timing and onboard cameras.

I think he might still be on BBC1 watching Wimbledon. :p

nope. i just miss the close racing with at least 3 leading cars in less than one second. todays race is a procedure nothing else ...

Unfortunately, money talks, so I'm betting after the race, he'll get away with just a time penalty. Ideally, he should have been disqualified from the race straight away, and fined for reckless driving.

That's a fair point. I miss that too, but I'm still enjoying the races when I can. :) Just fingers crossed for rain or a safety car. :p

i somehow take my words back.. the last laps were exactly what i wanted to see. shame about vettel, 2 laps more and he would have gotten that ferrari as well...

Well done Webber, exciting end to that race, shame Button couldn't capitalise a bit more, was less than a sec behind senna for the last 10 laps or so and couldn't get anywhere.

Also I quite like this new ceremony with interviews...except the flags on spinning boards...needs to be a traditional flag!

And Fans being allowed onto the track at the end as it should be!

Will look forward to Maldonado having his Super License revoked. Full respect to Perez for having the balls to stand up and say what he really thinks about him. By the sound of it the same sentiment is shared with most of the paddock. Williams wouldn't dare do anything themselves though, Maldonado's sponsors bring too much money to the team.

A pretty abysmal race for the Brits on the grid but I don't think you can be too harsh on teams choosing the wrong strategy. They had barely any dry practice and no one could have said which combination of tyres would be fastest - who would have thought the difference between a HHS and a SHH strategy could be so significant?

di Resta was really unlucky but Force India didn't look to be anywhere today.

Well done to Webber. I thought Alonso had it in the bag since he had a big gap and fresh soft tyres, but Webber came through pretty easily in the end.

Lotus must have a win coming before the summer break.

    • I think the car analogy is more this: Left hand drive, basic commands on the left side of the infotainment screen. Right hand drive, basic commands on the right side of the infotainment screen. Granted, you're not swapping between the two often so it's doesn't really work. But it's to do with the proximity of you (your mouse, or the driver) to the controls.
    • I mean, the old one was broken and so stupidly complex for many users, so I don't see that as a feasible option. A context menu needs to be simple to use, and for me the Windows 11 style actually worked really well for me, and many others. I used to have to scroll the damn context menu just to get to "file properties" in Windows 10. That was not a good experience, and I'm sure you'd agree. What they're trying to do is make it the best of both worlds, as clearly you'd prefer the Win10 style. I'm curious how they're going to do this.
    • The "Show more options" has its place, as does the simpler context menu, but it should perhaps be a separate fly-out rather than relaunching the entire, old context menu. The old context menu was getting absurd in Windows 10. Often I'd have to make the context menu scroll just to get to "File properties" on my old laptop. Even without much installed, the amount of items was just too much. It's a context menu, not a "do all" menu. Making it configurable is fraught with challenges too, so I'm interested to see how Microsoft tackles this one.
    • I don't hate the new menus, I am not a fan of the lack of features and how they went live when they clearly are not complete. The menu itself presents much better than the previous - but what's lacking (IMO) is: 1) Any kind of automated manipulation such as: "this goes on the new menu because you use this feature more often on this filetype" "this is rarely used and will fall back to the old menu" 2) Any kind of user manipulation such as: "a UI to add/remove/order items to the new menu"
