All I have to say is playing Super Stardust Delta and checking out the Hustle Kings demo while on conference calls at work may very well be the reason the Vita was invented. :shiftyninja:

Hustle Kings is good, you should pick it up. It's one of the titles where you get the PS3/Vita versions for the price of one.

I also went on NEAR earlier and someone had left me/traded a piece of treasure from Uncharted. Not sure how they done it, but I do know gifts and challenges get shared through NEAR.

I am definitely considering picking it up, just no need right now, I have so many games to play on it as it is.

Can you link to that neogaf thread again with the wallpapers? Definitely want to check some of them out.

Actually, I found the original Neogaf thread AB posted with wallpapers...

From that thread, these two sites...

Hot Shots Golf is awesome. Love this game.

Also downloading Super Stardust and Lumines. I have a feeling I'll be sleeping late tonight.

I have yet to even check out Hot Shots yet, I own the game outright (meaning on cartridge). Figure I will save it for last, as I know I am going to enjoy it. (Y) Congrats BTW.

@ Rudy - I found the download speeds started off slow then picked up and took nowhere near as long as they originally said they were. Hopefully the same happens for you.

Also I have to say, a whole lot more members wound up picking up the Vita than I thought actually would. Very cool indeed.

I actually got sick, have a pretty crappy cold, so my plan is to head to bed soon, bring the Vita with me, and start playing some Rayman. Just so thoroughly impressed with the thing so far. It really provides a true gaming experience. Knew it would, but nice that my hopes have been confirmed.

I guess it should be expected since it just got released, I'm sure a lot of people are on it downloading demos and games

edit: yea it picked up. Went to eat something in the kitchen and came back and they were all done :)

Anyone else have retail Uncharted, every time i turn my Vita on it says Uncharted installing please wait and the icon jumps like its just been installed. Its already been updated to 1.01. Its a minor niggle but a bit annoying.

Yeah, I think it is just reading the card after you turn the system back on. It does seem unnecessary to tell you it's reading the card, and the icon bouncing around is silly.

Larry you somehow left me an Avatar for Hustle Kings in NEAR :p

That's me now received two gifts in it!

It's crazy how smooth/good looking it is in comparison with the PS3 version. Pretty much 1:1.

LOL, Shu is awesome.

Created a character in Reality Fighters for PS Vita. When he wins a fight, he says "Ridge Raceeerrrrr"! http://t.co/aY8RIi1o

I recorded the winning voice for Reality Fighter "CEO Kaz" character using YouTube clips. Fight start voice is "Five Ninty Nine Dollars!"

yeah rayman does the same, just reading the card on startup,

As I'm on a budget 4GB card until i get paid I'm having to really manage memory, one thing i haven't been able to find is a way to find out how much each app/demo/game is using on the card. I had a look in settings and application settings but it only lists any DLC or add ons, it doesn't list how much the game/demo is actually using, anyone know how to find this info out?

Also it appears that I'm part of the group that can't get near to work, it seems to be affecting the wifi users more (which i am) but googlemaps and near won't work with an error message stating that locational data could not be found, my machine is connected ok to my wifi network it just can't get the data. A few other forums have said stepping outside and trying it then, which ill try later, i hope this gets resolved as I'm envious of all of the near type activities going on and listed in the forum.

Ive tried the free AR games and they are really good for freebies. The tabletop football is probably the best, if your in the UK this is basically subuteo (sorry for the spelling) and plays exactly the same, with flicks for passing and moving the players. It was quite impressive, you use all six AR cards to setup not only the football pitch but also stadiums and the score board, as said it's a lot of fun and well worth the download.

So far I luckily have not had any of the issues mentioned in this thread. All seems to be working normal for me. No second installs, NEAR works, although I still have no idea what is really going on with it LOL and generally speaking, all has been smooth, which I did expect to have a bit more issues. I do have WiFi version, so far only been at my house and work, which at work I did not connect to the Wireless, so really just been connected at home.

One thing I was thinking of doing is giving the Vita a Static IP for my home network. As it currently lists my Nat as Type 2. Anyone seen any walkthroughs on that, such as ports that need to be forwarded, etc.? I am assuming it is probably just the same ones as the PS3, but would like to know for sure.

My WiFi vita tethers to my Desire through HTC Hotspot absolutely fine. No need for 3G version :p

Love how the screen looks, even when playing something like Hustle Kings the colours look very vivid.

Type 2 is the NAT you want.

For the first part, the only way I've figured out to check that stuff is while working with the content manager while it's connected to a PC/PS3. I'm quite sure then it shows the size of all the apps that you're able to delete off their.

As to the second part, I have that problem at my house about 50% of the time, yet at work it's able to pull the data no problem. Not sure what causes it here but it seems to be a bit of hit and miss for whatever reason (just tried it again now and it says it couldn't obtain it). Though like I said it's mainly at home I've having this problem as it's been able to retrieve it just fine connecting to hotspots around the downtown.

update: - found the app/game/demo size,

go into the home screen rearrange / edit mode, click the three dots next to an app and one of the options apart from delete is information, it will then tell you the file size as well as the updated date, version etc..

    • Looks like the 7.1 is fake effects, can it at least do real 5.1? It says 'virtual 7.1' in all descriptions.
    • You can't, if you didn't notice, it doesn't support surround at all, it's right in the spec list.
    • Hi — I’m always interested in soundcards. Like displays, I just want to know I’m getting as much clean “sonic juice” into my brain as possible as the years take their toll. I’m not entirely sure what to take away from this review, though. It doesn’t really tell me whether the AE‑X is a good product or who it’s actually for. Most of what I’m getting is: there’s a driver to install, here’s what it looks like, and here’s what’s in the box. There’s a lot of emphasis on the SPDIF input. When you mention not needing to switch headphones between console and PC — does that mean the PC has to be powered on just to pass audio through? That seems like a fairly big waste of energy. Is this more something a streamer would use alongside a capture card? How are you testing the sound? (Also, you might want to clarify that you’re using the headphones in wired mode when you mention they’re wireless.) You mention the lack of EMI shielding — how much real‑world difference does that make compared with typical motherboard audio? On multi‑channel: what exactly isn’t supported? Does this mean Windows spatial audio (Dolby Atmos for Headphones, DTS Headphone:X, etc.) won’t work, or just that the card itself doesn’t decode surround formats? And are there any true multi‑driver “surround” headphones left that would even use that? You also highlight support for high‑impedance headphones — but what does that translate to in practice? How does it compare to driving the same headphones from a normal device, and does it make any difference for everyday, lower‑impedance models? In short, who is this card actually targeted at?
    • Yes, THIS is wordart, not the styling that can now be done. Wordart was all about those curvy words, that you could change the path of, like making words go around a circle. I don't think it can be done now, right?
    • Just saw a news report of a Waymo driving into a flooded road.
