no one else got office 2003 Boxed i got all this, sadly i dont have a digital cam but a scanner does the job... LOL :D :D my **** came with Fed Ex

Interesting...

Were you on the beta from Beta 1 or did you submit a lot of bugs?

@ cannhawk

Perhaps there are two packages that get sent to the beta 1 tech testers.. One has the standard radio tuner thingie that every tester gets, and the other is the software, which comes a few days later and only Beta 1 testers get!?!?!??! Maybe....

it ****es me off to hear that people who went to launch got a full version and beta testers didn't. i didnt' go to launch because i was expecting a full version, so i wanted to spread the love around, oh well nix on that. i can understand it's expensive to send out 12,000 copies of even $150 software, but at the least is a 6 month preview build of the final code to much to ask?? i mean when office time bombs on the 30th and i have to format my system, it would have been nice to have the final version on there, something, because not everybody can afford the full version right now and i'm grown addicted to outlook.

why would you say that? from the picture it looked like a special box that had a space for the radio at the bottom, but looking at it again, it does look like the radio is just below the real box and not in a special space for the radio. while the whole thing does seem suspect, i have no reason to doubt him, because i can't see somebody buying the pro version just to say i got it in from the beta.

either way, i'm glad i was in the beta and i hope i get my radio lol, but here's hoping i get in the longhorn beta and the world of warcraft beta while we on the subject of betas lol.

i like office 2003 and i kinda say i have to like the UI and the new feature that while your net connected it will do searching for templates and help, etc. online. very nice.

I use onenote religiously (saved me from buying another pack of sticky notes) I dont use infopath cant see a reason for it (or access) I love words book viewer mode.

Only thing i dont understand is why they couldnt have changed the office logo assistant to look like the new logo and what happend to the genius they removed him from xp and 2003

Well for those who are complaining about some gift your suppsoed to get isnt the best gift they selected you to participate. Not everyone gets to participate in a MS beta and say I'm a beta tester for some hige company. I dont care about the gift. I forgot all about it, hell I dont need it. I will probably not use it, give it away, throw it away, or lose it somewhere. As for the software, I run my own company so I went to the launch event and surprise free copy of MS office 2003 along with the eval for now until they send it. Also I get another copy for owning my business as I'm part of the MS action pack subscription thingy where they send you ALL yes thats ALL of their software for a low low price of about $199 yes thats right ONE HUNDRED NINETY NINE DOLLARS. now hows that for a bargain eh. Even I will get longhorn when it comes out every quarter they send us stuff we dont have and the have come out with since the last quarter. Also I'm getting a 3rd copy for some reason I forget I think they called me and offered to pay me to take some survey or something who knows. But it pays to do something valuable with your life start something new and never give up. Dont bitch about gifts they are not necessary when there is so much more to life.

I dont know where the rumor that the launch people got full version started but...

As far as I know the launch was only a trial version. This is what it said in all of the paperwork for the launch.

No no this is no rumor IF you stayed the whole time at the end they gave you a coupon to go online and get the full retail PRO for free when it was released. They claimed it would ship in Late November.

I got a POS radio via normal mail. When I opened the mail box and saw it I went no way. I have been an MS Beta Site since 1996 and I can barely afford my computer. Now I have an Office Suite that is going dead on a timer and no way to get the full normal version. Sorry I do not beta test cause I enjoy wasting my time to help them make a better product to get a crappy radio. The only thing that is odd is I am a beta tester from day one but the letter says:

Dear Microsoft Office 2003 Individual Evaluation Program member,

So could I get another gift cause I was beta?

NO wonder the last Office news group went poof.

As I recall, there were tens of thousands of beta testers for the Microsoft Office System, and, given those numbers, it would be economically impractical for any company, Microsoft included, to offer their product to all of the beta testers. Having said this, I find it incredible that the many of you believe you?re entitled to compensation for having beta tested this product, especially since not a one of you were forced into beta testing this product. You were all granted access to a product months before its release and that should be enough.

    • On the one hand, it shouldn't be difficult. You buy a computer, you decide what OS you want, which browser etc. Simple enough. But that's the techie side of things. My sister, my mother, wouldn't bother with such a thought. And I'm pretty sure that if you presented a window asking them what to pick they would say, "I don't care! I just want to access my Email!"

    • Anyone who expects MS to play fair is a complete idiot.
    • Everyone behaves like Internet Explorer just never happened and Edge is whole new thing all while Microsoft is pulling the exact same ###### it did back then. Sigh.
