Really wishing I'd bought LA Noire yesterday, but I missed it. Oh well. I've probably spent more than I should have already. Great sale this year! I'll still be keeping an eye out to see if a couple games on my wishlist get some extreme discounts during the rest of the sale.

The only things I've bought from the sale so far have been Mafia, and Mafia II. I loved the second game on 360 but never got to finish the first one on the PlayStation 2 due to a bug where I could not load Mission 14. So now I can finish it, even if the game looks dated now. It must have looked excellent for 2002 though. This is my first encounter with the Steam Summer Sale but I'm enjoying it.

does dear esther contain more content than the dear esther addon from moddb? I'm confused as that version is free to anyone yet the steam version is chargeable :(

Looks like it was remade for sale on Steam as a standalone. Revisted levels etc, by the reviews.

For ~?2 I'm getting it.

That deal on Assassin's Creed is awful. I picked up a physical copy of the director's cut edition from my local Game for ?3.50 :/

Edit: Just noticed it was for AC:R, my bad

Just found this post on SA. Thought I'd give you guys a heads up before the Saints Row 3 sales goes offline.

You can get the DLC much cheaper by buying the packs, instead of individually as you'd see on the main store page for SR3.

Season Pass DLC Pack - 4.99

  • Genkibowl VII
  • Gangstas in Space
  • The Trouble with Clones
  • Nite Blayde Pack

Maximum Pleasure Pack - 1.74

  • FUNTIME! Pack
  • Money Shot Pack
  • Invincible Pack
  • Shark Attack Pack

Saints Purple Ops Pack - 1.74

  • Special Ops Vehicle Pack
  • Steelport Gangs Pack
  • Explosive Combat Pack
  • The Third Warrior Pack

Other DLCs not available in bundle packs:

  • Genki Girl Pack - 2.99
  • Witches & Wieners Pack - .74
  • Penthouse Pack - .74
  • Z Style Pack - .49
  • Bloodsucker Pack - .49

Hope that helps.

I just got everything except the Genki Girl Pack for $10.96. (Y)

Is Metro for $5 a good buy?

I have a decent machine (I7-950 and GTX 580) so hopefully it will run.

That system will run the game fine (although not in maximum detail at a constant 50+ FPS).

If you're into FPS-survival horror games, you'll enjoy this. Reviews are decent.

O yeah I really enjoyed it. And you will run it no problem. I had a way less powerful laptop run it fine on Med settings.

I added Rage today mainly to just run it on my system but I do also want to beat the game.

You can get Black Ops for ?12.99 on Amazon UK. The prices for the CoD games on Steam amount to daylight robbery

I wouldn't say amazon is much better of a deal on that considering that's ?12 more than any cod game is worth.

    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
