DICE and patches have been getting bigger and bigger ever since BFBC2. It's ridiculous now.

I can understand that they need to maintain compatibility with people who don't buy the DLC, but why is it only BF that seems to have GB patches to do it?

I recall a DICE dev posting on reddit about BC2 about the patch size issue, and if I remember it was some kind of frostbite related limitation where if they can't update 1 file without having to update a bunch of other related files along with it.

You'd think they'd work on that going from FB1.5 to FB2 and 3. Time constraints I guess but still getting inexcusable IMO.

PC, if you go to Battle log settings, you can make the background animated by turning Background Video on.

Trying to get into the Bombing Run is a nightmare, 2 - 10 KDR, don't think you can quick spawn in there.

I enabled Background video but don't see anything different? Using Chrome.

well finally the PC version is more or less playable....seems quite OK now. tho Ghosts is an excellent MP experience on PS4, I do prefer BF4, which is on the PC in my case. Not that the platform really matters at this juncture.

Dec 20 PC Game Update Notes

-Fix for terrain flickering when using SLI/CrossFire setup

-Fix for three of the top crash issues on the PC platform

-Fix for case when soldier can die with 1 HP instead of 0

-Fix for the issue where the revive UI could be permanently shown after accepting a revive

R17 Server Update Notes

-Fix for two server crashes

-Fix for a graphical bug that could occur when players accepted a revive within 1 second

-Server performance optimizations

Might hit it again sometime soon, just busy with Warframe.

Well since the patch, I can't launch the game anymore. I click to join a server and it just sits there forever (if I let it) at the joining server part. If I go into task manager, the BF4 exe is running (but using practically no memory) and I just kill it. Tried a few things to see if I could fix it like closing Origin and joining a game again and letting the game launch Origin for me. Tried logging out of Origin then back in again. Logged out of battlelog and back in again. Nothing works. So yeah, not to happy right now.

Do you  have the required drivers ? Try using PBsetup ( Punkbuster )

Played another round before work tonight (finally get a day off tomorrow for some rounds with friends) and had no issues. Something I did notice - and I'm sure this is old news - is that when I went to check my system performance test the network connection was "moderate". So I turned down the Network Smoothing from 50% to 0% just to see what happens and the connection showed "good" or green. When I was playing things felt so much more crisp in terms of overall gameplay. So, I'm kind of curious to see if others are finding similar results or if you have even tried messing with that setting (I have no idea what it does).

Played 5 rounds tonight so far, having a blast. I have the worst stats of anyone who's put in 25 hours but I don't care - the price you pay for being the only reviving medic :D Anyway, that network smoothing change really changed things for the better, and I'm sure the recent server updates have helped as well. I haven't had any crazy deaths behind cover and my hits are registering far more now. Hopefully the game is going in the right direction finally.

Because flying be hard! Actually, I've yet to try it out. I can fly choppers somewhat but jets, forget about it. Maybe I should learn though.

I hope they incorporate the platoons from BF3. Damn, trying to squad up with a group is too much work. You can tell this game was rushed simply from the basic stuff that was left out. I'm going to be optimistic though about this game from here out; I do have fun with it and the ability to make improvements is there.

Man, this game looks amazing if you put the "resolution scale" setting at 150% or higher. Everything looks incredibly sharp. I've lowered some of my other settings so I could keep that at 150% with a good 60 fps (left textures and mesh/terrain settings on ultra/high though), looks awesome:

It is a gorgeous game. It's so colorful! If anyone remembers BC2, it felt kind of monochromatic.

    • draw.io Desktop 30.2.4 by Razvan Serea draw.io desktop is a downloadable security-first diagramming application that runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux. Creating diagrams in the desktop app doesn’t need an internet connection. This is useful when you are disconnected or when you must create diagrams in a highly secure environment, where data protection is of the utmost importance. When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. Create tables and swimlane flows with a familiar tool. Style shapes and connectors with customisable palettes, sketch options, fonts and text formatting tools. Search for shapes, including in open-source icon libraries. Use our vast libraries of shapes and templates, organised into logical categories, to create a range of diagrams and infographics. Generate diagrams from text descriptions using our smart templates. Diagram faster with keyboard shortcuts. draw.io Desktop 30.2.4 changelog: Uses electron 42.4.1 Updates to draw.io core 30.2.4. • Microsoft will soon allow some users to block Copilot from analyzing their Office files by Usama Jawad Microsoft Purview is a pretty useful data governance, security, and management service that allows customers to gain enhanced visibility and control over their content. It's meant for commercial customers, such as organizations that are storing data at scale. As AI continues to expand and infiltrate every corner of a firm, many are a bit conscious about the technology gaining access to their confidential data. Microsoft is now making a configuration change that will allow such customers to rest easy. Right now, users within an organization have the option to apply Purview sensitivity labels (when available) to secure certain files and label them as such. For example, if you apply the "Confidential" label on an Excel file, the file will be encrypted, and a "confidential" watermark will be applied to it. So, if this file is shared with anyone, they are aware that its access is supposed to be restricted. Up until now, Microsoft was allowing some connected experiences, like its AI services, to analyze files, regardless of their sensitivity label. This is of major concern to most organizations, as a recent example highlighted how confidential emails with data loss prevention (DLP) policies like privacy labels were being uploaded to Copilot for analysis. As such, Microsoft is updating an existing Purview data label sensitivity setting that prevents "some connected experiences that analyze content", from being blocked completely from doing this. The label isn't changing, but the blocking is now being enforced across all connected services (including Copilot and other AI tools), and now extends to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Files with the label applied already will get this enhancement automatically too once it becomes available. Microsoft has urged IT admins to inform their respective helpdesk and compliance teams, update internal documentation, and review sensitivity labels to ensure that they meet their respective compliance needs. This change is tagged as MC1297982 in the Message Center. General availability is scheduled to begin in a phased manner soon and will complete by the end of next month. That said, it is important to note that this only applies to commercial customers who have a license that allows them to use Purview.
