basques - definitely play GTA IV man, it won't be as wow now as it was back in 2008 or as GTA III was back in 2001, but to my mind it's the best entry in the series. just the right combination of world building, serious storytelling, good characters, and the usual GTA madness. GTA V was more leaning towards the madness, I guess they were trying to address many gamers who found GTA IV too somber and "off". probably also Rockstar responding to the success of Saint's Row, which is all out silliness most of the time. GTA V was (or I should say is) an awesome experience, just didn't wow me. I'll never forget the first 20 minutes of playing III or IV, but the first 20 minutes of this were nice and all, but might as well have been Kane & Lynch. Not forgettable by any measure, just not amazing - to me.

Larry- those missions you mention are needed in the story. I think Lester's missions are not mandatory, but generally ichi is right, anything that's a capital letter should be done.

Brilliant game. Got to 100% completion in SP last night. Even after that there's still a bunch of stuff I haven't done or seen in the game yet.

^ Hax :p

Pab - how the hell did you get more than two billion dollars?!

It's legit. You can get crazy amounts of money if you save Lester's assassination missions until after the main story, and then make the correct investments as you do them.

Glad I'm not the only one that wasn't completely in the WOW factor of GTA V. But I find GTAO a bit better considering I like to rob and cause a much destruction I can b4 going down in a blaze of glory.

I think Rockstar hyped it up so much in the trailers and focused more on the new things you can do, then ended up  watering the main story aspect down compared to its predecessors. When they get ready to do another GTA I hope it will be a revamp of Vice City...Most gamers of the franchise have been wanting to see this for years now.  Anyways, I just found some of the Story missions to be more annoying and bland then fun, Idk what direction they're wanting to take it, but it's not a good one for SP. How did anyone of ya'll feel about the Kifflom missions?

I know some places i was reading that most people just bought for online play only...kind of a waste of money if they're just buying it for that and not going to do the actual game. anyone have this stuff happen? Was up most of the night few days ago reading them.

The thing I hate about GTA V cops. [FIXED] : gaming

I'm done with this game, single player was good ok, multiplayer I've totally given up with. Now on eBay.

Never experienced such a terrible game for online like this before, I've even played beta's which run better.

Noooo. just take it back to where you bought it, if Gamestop and you got it on release get your cash back out of it...LOL im gonna try finding your ad...^_^

well, might have to give this one a whirl, did all of Lester's missions and never got close to this. but never touched the stock market either, so not sure!

That's part of the point of Lester's missions -- your actions directly affect stock prices.  Invest in the competitor of the person you're about to assassinate, then after about 8 hours, sell.  If you wait until after the main story, when you have about $35million, and you time it just right, you can end up with $2.1B.

Be aware that some of the stocks you're supposed to invest in are on the BAWSAQ, which is tied to the Social Club as well, and can be temperamental with the online going haywire.

Online is a really nice extra (or will be when they get it to work as it should) but I sure wouldn't have bought this game if it was only about MP.

Also, leaving the story aside, both MP and SP are pretty much about exactly the same: build your character(s), earn money and complete missions. I don't see how you could like MP and not enjoy the SP: you won't be playing with friends but you get a lot of weird NPCs. And Trevor.

I'm pretty much in solo mode to build up as much as possible ( none of my friends own or like GTA). I just randomized my character and she's taller then Lamar. Good point I would've done the same if it was strictly MP I wouldn't mind having Trevor in MP right now haha. It's not too bad online, SP gets a bit annoying though. okay i went to do targeting at AN and some how I ended up out of solo and got shot and killed by another and....I'm confused ATM

The online portion is really buggy. I lost my character once already but was somehow able to keep the money. Once they work out the bugs it will be awesome. I've already had some great moments online.

ps3 or 360

Finally got to sit down and play some GTA Online.

Enjoying it so far, only really done racing and a couple of jobs. Really enjoying the racing, was annoyed at first cause i was picking up powerups but it didn't tell me how to use them!

I had to read online. I also actually had a couple of normal races where the top drivers weren't trying to smash each other off the track. Rally driving while i can see being fun with someone on the mic, it doesn't quite work with the screen commands. I got stuck with some Russians who were screaming at me, also when they told me a direction after they'd say "right" instead of something like "ok straight", so i went right and got the screaming again.

Only thing i'm not liking and will hopefully change is the lack of 1-2 player missions. As i only have one mate who'll play GTA Online, we want to jump in a do some story missions instead we have to do different game modes to build JP to unlock those types of missions.

Still it is pretty impressive what Rockstar have done.

This is how I felt about them...

(For those who don't yet know what they don't know...

during the lengthy Epsilon quest you must run 5 miles in the desert while wearing special robes. Even with the controller fixed like this it takes about 25 minutes.

    • This seems backwards. You should have to explicitly authorize files for outside use. It shouldn't be the default.
    • Wow you are right, I never even noticed this until you said it! (870E Aorus Master) Before testing this card I had a TP-Link tx401 10GbE PCIe card in that slot (now using XikeStor 310 Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter).
    • Lack of 5.1 makes this a no sale. What I really wish creative would make would be a USB version that supports 5.1 analog audio for speakers, can switch to headphone mode, and matches the specs of their top tier cards. The current X870E AMD motherboards dont have a great option for adding a PCIE x1 card without cutting down pcie lanes to the graphics card.
    • The Microsoft Office feature that time forgot by Usama Jawad I have been actively using Microsoft Word for the past couple of decades in academic, professional, and personal capacities. Although I used it through the perpetual version of Office apps at the start, I have been an active subscriber of Microsoft 365 Family subscription for over five years now. This means that my Word installation is regularly updated with new features, some of which I don't really like, but that's beside the point. As new features get continuously added, old ones that used to be a staple of Word have started to take a backseat. While I was reminiscing over my Windows experiences from my childhood today, I suddenly remember one such capability that I heavily used in my younger years but have not really touched in over a decade, and haven't seen in documents created by others either. That feature is WordArt. Just to clarify, WordArt is not a Microsoft product specific to Word, and is included in other Office apps like PowerPoint and Excel too. However, Microsoft Word is the app that I used Word Art in heavily, while making assignments or other deliverables for school. If you're unaware, WordArt offers a collection of styling techniques for text, introducing 3D effects like shadows and reflections in the text. It used to be one of the coolest things ever when I was at school and me and my classmates would often compete to ensure that our assignment's title in WordArt was truly the best and stood out above the rest. See some examples of WordArt, still present in the latest versions of Word below: Although WordArt is undeniably cool, it has taken a bit of a backseat, and has been relegated from the Home tab to the Insert toolbar, along with a bunch of other utilities, making it very easy to miss. This isn't exactly surprising because WordArt doesn't really have a place in academic and professional documents anymore, and while I have seen some creatives using it while developing promo material, even that sector has gravitated more towards dedicated graphic designing tools in the past years. For the vast majority of us, WordArt doesn't really exist, and that's alright. At least, it's still an option that can allow us to reminisce our childhood or even make some quick text stylization, if we really need it. Perhaps its usage has waned over time or the novelty has worn off, but I haven't even seen children use it in their academic assignments anymore. In fact, many don't even know that it exists. Maybe that's the fate of every beloved feature. What once felt cutting edge eventually becomes a relic, quietly tucked away as tastes, trends, and technology move on. WordArt may no longer dominate school assignments or decorate the covers of classroom projects, but for those of us who grew up with it, it remains a colorful reminder of a time when making text glow, bend, and cast giant shadows felt like the height of creativity. Hidden behind a few clicks in modern Word, it still survives not as a productivity tool, but as a small piece of computing nostalgia that refuses to disappear.
