That will ALWAYS happen. No-one wants to think "one of our own" would do something like this.

Thus... immediately go with foreign terrorism to put people at ease.

I'll never forget this guy

It's a very sad situation..my thoughts go out to all of the people directly affected by this tragedy

I do wish the "analysts" on these news programs would quit calling these explosions "small",,yes, they were small bombs but they were set off with a lot of people around and clearly were exploded with the thinking of taking out as many people as possible, It's a horrible situation and when these analysts call these "small" explosions they minimize the effects they have on the people who were in the bomb blast... I saw a person being wheeled out who had lost his legs..I don't think he would consider these explosions as "small"

Describing them as "small" gives context to the scale of the explosions. Just because they are small doesn't mean they are any less deadly or serious, as evidenced by this attack. A small gas leak can kill hundreds of people but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be referred to as "small". Nobody is trying to downplay the seriousness of this attack - in fact a lot of the media is trying to do the opposite.

a university of mobile coach said it was odd that bomb sniffing dogs were at the start and finish lines before the explosions and the loudspeakers were pumping "it's only a drill"

Sources say the man under arrest is a 20 y/o Saudi national who has a shrapnel wound.

Also seems they may have been set off by cell phones. Boston taking down cell services.

That and 2 bombs together, one after the other to get stampeding people with the second device, is an AQ signature.

Wow - they aren't taking any chances. That's a good thing though. It is sad we have to go crazy when stuff like this happens, but how angry would we be if they didn't do that and something did happen.

As for the bomb/fire at the library, the networks are finally getting behind the

fire story. They are, however, finding a series of bombs along the Marathon

route. How the hell does someone plant that many bombs along a known

Event route without being noticed??

video just before the explosion Warning*** Graphic**** view at own risk

The audio is equally disturbing, hearing the screams go from surprise to pain and fear..

Then watching event staff trying to bust through barriers to get to people..

Note, it is VERY graphic. There is a lot of blood.

Apparently bomb sniffing dogs were out. So we should just remain calm and find out how this happened. It's not like we were unaware this event was a high probability target. There will be time for that later. Right now we need to pray for the victims and their families.

That proves nothing. The info is available on the internet AND has been widely discussed. It could have been anyone that is responsible.

Speculating is just feeding the fear machine.

This was an act of terrorism but either demostic or non-demostic! Not to speculate, North Korea has been issuing consistant threats against us and today they are celebrating their founder's birthday as well. It is very possible North Korea could have planned and executed the explosions! Only someone or something pure evil would have done this! Someone or something was planning this for awhile also!

I have not seen anything that suggests that they have confirmed additional bombs, I believe they are using controlled explosions to clear out any remaining backpacks/packages that were left behind when people started running.

    • Just the price of doing business. The scamble to pull as much from the web as possible is happening, and it's happening before a case like this changes how or what is legal do to with AI in terms of data harvesting. But even then as we've seen with the likes of Google who ignore cookie requests and just accept the fact they'll get fined, it's built into their business price model now. AI is here, its not going away. Their reward if any from the court case would be best suited to trying to incorprate AI or licence their end points as authentic human verified content. The problem is, as we've seen these same news papers are using AI themselves.

    • This Chinese company is reportedly developing a feature Apple and Samsung can only dream of by Hamid Ganji While companies like Apple and Samsung have been relatively conservative with their devices’ battery capacities in recent years, Chinese manufacturers have taken the competition to the next level by introducing significantly larger batteries. However, the latest report from China suggests that a local company may already be developing a smartphone with a whopping 14,000mAh battery. Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station claimed on Weibo that a smartphone maker is developing a device with a 14,000mAh battery. If true, it would be the largest battery ever used in a smartphone and could, in theory, provide up to a week of battery life on a single charge. The leaker did not reveal the name of the company behind the device, but there are some clues. This week, HONOR unveiled the X80 Pro Max in China with an 11,000mAh battery and 90W wired charging support. The company also launched the Honor Win in January, which packs a 10,000mAh battery. HONOR, a former subsidiary of Huawei, has a proven track record of developing smartphones with unusually large batteries. However, other Chinese brands, including Xiaomi, have also launched devices such as the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max with 7,500mAh batteries. Though Chinese users on Weibo also believe the company behind the new battery is HONOR. Interestingly, Digital Chat Station said the device with the 14,000mAh battery weighs around 220 grams, making it lighter than the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max (233 grams) and slightly heavier than the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (214 grams). The iPhone 17 Pro Max currently packs a 5,088mAh battery in eSIM-only versions, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra features a 5,000mAh battery. Neither device is expected to see a dramatic increase in battery capacity in its next-generation successor. So when it comes to battery comparison, Chinese brands are unbeaten. HONOR smartphones are currently available in the EU, but the Chinese brand has no official presence in the United States due to restrictions imposed by the U.S. government.
