I have to conduct a few points more,

Reloading a level after death takes longer than almost instant, around 5 seconds actually.

Meaning, on some check points at Uber difficulty, you will spend more time looking at the loading screen than playing.

I have a feeling the engine is doing something really bad here, like actually reloading everything.

I have 55 hours on Steam for this game. I probably played less than 20.

Why? Game does not quit. Executable stays in memory after I Alt-F4.

unlucky?    runs smooth as butter here with all the latest drivers.    never had to wait longer then a few seconds.

maybe on uber something changes?     a bug?

i am playing on second hardest level, and the game is too easy.    at normal level (bring'em on!) you can just run in shooting in the room and kill everyone in seconds!

maybe i should switch to ?ber, as i am only half way through!    I will report if there is any slowing downs.

Generally true, the second diff setting is quite easy, but there are moments where it's quite challenging. Depends how far you're in the campaign. Generally speaking it's quite easy.

Beat the game. It was good, not great, just good. Really, it is just a game where you play a jarhead which kills a really large number of robot Nazis.

Not a game that I would replay though, that would be tedious.

I feel like re-playing Bioshock 3 now...

There aren't many games that are just plain good all the way through these days.

Bethesada is odd, they locked entire game in Germany, activate in Poland not playable in Germany, simply not shows on game list, if I try run exe form game folder i get info "locked in this country", hahahaha, sniffing over IP, not nice. Possible to play via VPN but this is not a solution, since I own original copy, blah.

Can't you simply play it offline?? (disconnect from internet?)

IP locking is a terrible thing. But since you activated the uncensored version in Poland you can't play it in Germany, since there you can only use the altered version...it's idiotic, but Bethesda are JUST FOLLOWING ORDERS

And the funniest thing is that this law apply only to the games, for example worst B class movie is OK with symbols, since it is "Art", so it is allowed, games aren't Art in Germany so from there we have this what we have...

I've send a email to Bethesda, no hope... Since they don't give a .... You know what ;)

It's pure hypocrisy and prejudice against games, as they're not "art". Next thing you know they'll be burning games and rounding up developers :D ok bad joke...

Writing to Bethesda won't help, they will tell you they are just complying with the law in Germany, which is true. Up to them the game would not be altered, it's just extra PITA for them.

Wow, what an experience. Completed it yesterday and indeed it was an amazing single player campaign, for all its faults and obvious breaks from reality - the writing and emotional impact were superb. This is almost on par with Spec Ops the Line, totally unexpected. To think we feared this would be the next Duke Forever or Colonial Marines...should have known better with Starbreeze/Machinegames at the helm. And yes, i totally cried during the end credits song. But nothing happened after the credits. Did i miss something?

    • UK funds £60M AI labs to challenge US tech dominance with open-source models by Paul Hill The UK government has awarded £60 million to Oxford University and University College London to help keep the country in the AI race by focusing on open-source, low-hardware alternatives. This is in stark contrast to the expensive, closed-source, and high-hardware-requirement models being created in the United States and elsewhere. The money will be shared among two new academic research labs over six years to help them redesign the fundamental mathematics and architectures of AI to help the UK reduce its reliance on a handful of US tech firms. Commenting on the development, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said: Initially, the government planned to fund just one lab with a £40 million investment, but with this update, two labs will now get access to a larger pool of funds. The labs are expected to invest in the top AI researchers at every career stage, with £2 million per lab being set aside for hiring at least ten doctoral students. The government hopes that this will grow the UK’s talent in the field of AI. The labs are also expected to work closely with the leaders in British AI research, such as the Alan Turing Institute and UKRI’s AI research hubs. This will allow the various teams to collaborate and create new solutions faster than they could alone. This development is pretty interesting for a number of reasons, chiefly that it could create a long-term challenge for US tech firms if these labs successfully scale these open-source architectures that bypass the proprietary ecosystems. It could also give British businesses and public sector organizations access to AI features without paying high licensing fees to foreign providers or needing to invest in specialized server infrastructure.
    • If I were them, I'm gonna hold out until the prices of these semiconductor parts normalize. $1,049 for a ~5 year old hardware is DoA, more so for gamers. On a deeper note, if Steam Machine is priced like this, we are soo effed up for the next gen Xbox console and PS6. With great AAA titles releasing at the end of the year, this just creates more demand...and more tears for me. Lol.
    • I suspect one reason its hard to justify subsidising is that it's not a locked down device like a traditional console is. In this climate sadly if it was a "good deal" you'd get people hoarding them for anything but gaming. The Lenovo Legion Go 2 with the Ryzen Z2 Extreme is £1300 here ($1720) for some context on how other SteamOS like devices are now priced. I got the older Z1 Extreme model for £300 with a dock, just shows how insane prices have got recently.
