I like how you completely twisted everything I said to fit your opinion. Don't ever try that with me again.

Never said what my opinion on what he said was but you implied I did. I don't agree with his beliefs. I could care less who anyone is with. If they are in love and "happy, happy, happy", more power to them.

I like how you tried to imply that I am gay when I'm not. I'm married to a woman and have a 4 year old son. I brought up my gay nephews and one atheist friend to show that not only straight Christians are the ones complaining. One of the nephews is also an atheist.

Won't waste anymore of this post on you. Don't ever twist my words again.

LMFAO

good point. But he was talking from personal experiences. It wasn't a statement of hate... Just profound ignorance.

Perhaps, but A&E has every right to suspend him for claiming blacks were happy pre-civil rights. He called it the pre-entitlement, pre-welfare period. And that he never saw a black person mistreated. They used to sing, were happy happy happy, and never got (sang) the blues.

Forget the gay talk. He completely whitewashed Jim Crow laws in that interview.

LMFAO

His was a pretty grand response :D I did a double take and then had to go back to see the pure gold that I wrote... I was rather disappointed when I found out I wasn't nearly so clever as he made me out to be :/

So what should they do about Justine Sacco who got fired from her job for what she tweeted about in her off time. You guys say 1st Ammendment. So if Phil gets to be reinstated then should Justine Sacco also get her job back?

Nacissists are extremely great at putting words together. In this case he speaks for God as if he is a Prophet. It's kinda like using a 3rd party to express your hatred. It's not you saying it, it's the 3rd party saying it. So I think he should never come back for the reason that he made his God the hater and agrees with his God. He's a very clever Narcissist.

It was funny :)

She's not a comedian though, and it could be offensive to some people, both black and white. She's not just a janitor or an ad executive either, she's the PR person. Not a smart move.

It wouldn't necessarily be my call, but firing her for that comment isn't unreasonable at all.

BTW, there is no "first amendment" that says that you can say whatever you think and not be fired for it.

BTW, BTW, I do think the Duck Dynasty guy should have lost his show, unequivocally.

So what he says "His God" says about Homosexuality leading to Beastiality and then agreeing with His so called God is right?

Sure. Except for he never said that homosexuality leads to bestiality.

I'm sorry, he was compairing the 2. And did you see this video?

No, sorry. I realized that what I said could obviously be misinterpreted. I updated it, but I didn't realize you'd already replied.

It's not alright in the least, and he should absolutely have been fired.

there's a difference.  If he said I can't get AIDS because I'm straight then that would be similar to what she said.  However freedom of speech only really protects you freedom to speak against the government that's it.  The 1st amendment doesn't mean I can say whatever the hell I want with no consequence.  The way the laws are written you could commit a crime by what you say to an individual person where you could say the same thing to the "government" and be protected by the 1st amendment.

She deserved punishment for her statements because they were flat out racist and ignorant.  It's not like there's no white people with AIDS /s

There is no difference. He said blacks were happy pre-civil rights and never sang the blues. Is that a factually correct statement?

The only difference is that Justine Sacco was joking. Phil Robertson was dead serious.

Both deserve punishment.

yes Mr. Kim Jon un, They should be sent to reeducation camp

I'm glad Americans have joblessness back to pre recession levels, brought economy back on track, fixed a broken healthcare law, rolled back police state tactics of the government that a  67 year old grand pa's views on homosexuality is news  :/

How was he comparing the two? And no I didn't see that video. I don't care about this guy enough (or at all) to try to track down every naughty little thing he's ever said.

In reference to this thread and article it's about, this is what he said and I don't see any comparisons being made:

?Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,?

the way i read it, he is saying they are equal in terms

the way i read it, he is saying they are equal in terms

The way I read it, it sounds like he is saying there is a slippery slope leading from homosexuality to bestiality.

EDIT: fyi, the slope is Mario Kart's Rainbow road.

the way i read it, he is saying they are equal in terms

I can see that but not knowing the game and only going by the article I don't think that's what he was saying at all.

I think he's saying that, from a Christian stand point, if homosexuality is okay, then what's next? Bestiality? He's saying as a christian if we allow this one thing that is not good then eventually this other thing that is worse will start to be okay.

I'm not saying that's my view point I'm just saying that's what I take from reading that sentence. Notice that he says sleeping around with women after bestiality? He gives that offense just as much weight as he does homosexuality.

Didn't you say a few posts ago that he never said homosexuality leads to bestiality?

Didn't you say a few posts ago that he never said homosexuality leads to bestiality?

Yes? Because he didn't? He never said "sorry all you gay people out there, eventually animals are gonna be your thing". All he said is that if one bad sin is okay, then eventually people will accept that another completely unrelated bad sin will be okay.

Though maybe I could have worded that post a little better???

Well you just said the opposite viewpoint in your previous post -- that he said if we allow homosexuality, it leads down the path to bestiality being okay. (I bolded the part in my last post)

If that's how you want to read it then I can't change that. Granted I could have worded it better, though.

That Video was on the front page of many news sites. So, tracking it down? Not us reader. We leave it up to all those reporters to do it for us. :-P

It's the teaching of the bible. If you're a Christian your bound by the book. The bible isn't an exceptionally tolerant or open minded book. But the first amendment combined with protected classes allows you to have those views without being punished by either the government or your employer.

    • Google reportedly limited Meta's Gemini access over limited AI compute by Karthik Mudaliar Google is reportedly limiting Meta's use of its Gemini AI models after Meta tried buying more computing capacity than even Google could supply. According to the Financial Times, Google told Meta in March that it could not provide the full Gemini capacity that Meta had requested. This shortfall even disrupted and delayed some of Meta's internal projects. Due to this, Meta even told its employees internally to use AI tokens more efficiently. Meta wasn't the only one to get hit by this sudden refusal by Google; even other customers were affected. But Meta was hit harder because of its unusually high demand for Google's models. The move from Google makes it evident that companies all over are in limited supply of both infrastructure and compute. Alphabet said in April that Google Cloud revenue grew 63% year-over-year to $20 billion in the first quarter, helped by enterprise AI infrastructure and AI solutions. In pursuit of more compute, Meta had earlier signed a multi-billion-dollar AWS agreement as well as a large AMD GPU deal for AI data centers. But the crunch would be short-lived as both Meta and Google have also ramped up infrastructure investments heavily. Meta said in November that it was committing more than $600 billion in the U.S. by 2028 for AI technology, infrastructure, and workforce expansion. In the first quarter of this year, Meta also raised its expected capital expenditure for 2026 to a range of $125 billion to $145 billion, citing higher component pricing and additional data center costs for future capacity. However, this doesn't make the company immune to the current dependence on outside suppliers. Meta has also spent many years promoting Llama as an open-weight alternative to closed models from Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic. But if the reported reliance on Google's Gemini models is severe enough for internal work to get impacted, then it looks like even frontier labs and Big Tech aren't fully self-sufficient. • I like to reminisce about the good old days, way back in autumn 2025 when building a gaming machine was fun and the drives were about $150 when you caught a deal. Yes duh, back in the day we had it gone. Then baby Skynet came along, hiding in AI datacenters demanding more processing power until it reached singularity. End of a not totally fictional story.
    • My experience in the past with older Windows 11 builds was not great on unsupported machines but I recently used Rufus to put the latest build on a older 5th Gen Core Thinkpad T that we upgraded with a SATA SSD and 8GB of RAM four years ago when hardware was reasonable and it seemed pretty fast and solid. Customer is very happy with the performance and will probably get four more years out of that venerable laptop that he loves so much. Another customer just retired his Dell Studio laptop from 2009 running Windows 10. It got an SSD over 10 years ago and did everything he needed it to for 17 years but he also retired last year and is happy doing everything on his iPad now.
    • Apple's newest AirTag 2 gets first big discount by Taras Buria In late January 2026, Apple introduced its second-generation AirTag trackers, bringing a refresh to the old model that has been on the market for half a decade. Now, you can get these new trackers at an all-time low price, thanks to the first big discount that brought the price down by 17% on Amazon. While the second-generation AirTag looks identical to its predecessor, it packs meaningful upgrades inside. The second-gen ultrawideband chip works 50% farther than the original AirTag, allowing you to detect lost items in a wider range. In addition, the second-generation AirTag features an upgraded Bluetooth chip for extended range and a significantly louder speaker (up to 50%) so that you can hear it better when locating a lost item. Note that the second-gen AirTag only works with iPhones and iPads that run iOS/iPadOS 26 and newer, so you need a compatible device to use the tracker. Like the original AirTag, the AirTag 2 is available in two packs: one and four pieces. Both are now available at a notable discount on Amazon, and you can purchase them using the links below. • I've been on Deezer for over a decade, but glad that Tidal joined them in fighting AI slop. Can't stand such takes as Spotify's: "Spotify's CEO recently pushed back against listeners who call AI music "slop," urging people to stop using the term and instead embrace the creative potential of AI music."
