Never said what my opinion on what he said was but you implied I did. I don't agree with his beliefs. I could care less who anyone is with. If they are in love and "happy, happy, happy", more power to them.

I like how you tried to imply that I am gay when I'm not. I'm married to a woman and have a 4 year old son. I brought up my gay nephews and one atheist friend to show that not only straight Christians are the ones complaining. One of the nephews is also an atheist.

Perhaps, but A&E has every right to suspend him for claiming blacks were happy pre-civil rights. He called it the pre-entitlement, pre-welfare period. And that he never saw a black person mistreated. They used to sing, were happy happy happy, and never got (sang) the blues.

Forget the gay talk. He completely whitewashed Jim Crow laws in that interview.

Nacissists are extremely great at putting words together. In this case he speaks for God as if he is a Prophet. It's kinda like using a 3rd party to express your hatred. It's not you saying it, it's the 3rd party saying it. So I think he should never come back for the reason that he made his God the hater and agrees with his God. He's a very clever Narcissist.

She's not a comedian though, and it could be offensive to some people, both black and white. She's not just a janitor or an ad executive either, she's the PR person. Not a smart move.

 

It wouldn't necessarily be my call, but firing her for that comment isn't unreasonable at all.

 

BTW, there is no "first amendment" that says that you can say whatever you think and not be fired for it.

 

BTW, BTW, I do think the Duck Dynasty guy should have lost his show, unequivocally.

there's a difference.  If he said I can't get AIDS because I'm straight then that would be similar to what she said.  However freedom of speech only really protects you freedom to speak against the government that's it.  The 1st amendment doesn't mean I can say whatever the hell I want with no consequence.  The way the laws are written you could commit a crime by what you say to an individual person where you could say the same thing to the "government" and be protected by the 1st amendment.

 

She deserved punishment for her statements because they were flat out racist and ignorant.  It's not like there's no white people with AIDS /s

The only difference is that Justine Sacco was joking. Phil Robertson was dead serious.

How was he comparing the two? And no I didn't see that video. I don't care about this guy enough (or at all) to try to track down every naughty little thing he's ever said.

The way I read it, it sounds like he is saying there is a slippery slope leading from homosexuality to bestiality.

 

EDIT: fyi, the slope is Mario Kart's Rainbow road.

I can see that but not knowing the game and only going by the article I don't think that's what he was saying at all.

 

I think he's saying that, from a Christian stand point, if homosexuality is okay, then what's next? Bestiality? He's saying as a christian if we allow this one thing that is not good then eventually this other thing that is worse will start to be okay.

 

I'm not saying that's my view point I'm just saying that's what I take from reading that sentence. Notice that he says sleeping around with women after bestiality? He gives that offense just as much weight as he does homosexuality.

Yes? Because he didn't? He never said "sorry all you gay people out there, eventually animals are gonna be your thing". All he said is that if one bad sin is okay, then eventually people will accept that another completely unrelated bad sin will be okay.

 

Though maybe I could have worded that post a little better???

Well you just said the opposite viewpoint in your previous post -- that he said if we allow homosexuality, it leads down the path to bestiality being okay. (I bolded the part in my last post)  :laugh:

That Video was on the front page of many news sites. So, tracking it down? Not us reader. We leave it up to all those reporters to do it for us. :-P

It's the teaching of the bible. If you're a Christian your bound by the book. The bible isn't an exceptionally tolerant or open minded book. But the first amendment combined with protected classes allows you to have those views without being punished by either the government or your employer.

      Google reportedly limited Meta's Gemini access over limited AI compute by Karthik Mudaliar Google is reportedly limiting Meta's use of its Gemini AI models after Meta tried buying more computing capacity than even Google could supply. According to the Financial Times, Google told Meta in March that it could not provide the full Gemini capacity that Meta had requested. This shortfall even disrupted and delayed some of Meta's internal projects. Due to this, Meta even told its employees internally to use AI tokens more efficiently. Meta wasn't the only one to get hit by this sudden refusal by Google; even other customers were affected. But Meta was hit harder because of its unusually high demand for Google's models. The move from Google makes it evident that companies all over are in limited supply of both infrastructure and compute. Alphabet said in April that Google Cloud revenue grew 63% year-over-year to $20 billion in the first quarter, helped by enterprise AI infrastructure and AI solutions. In pursuit of more compute, Meta had earlier signed a multi-billion-dollar AWS agreement as well as a large AMD GPU deal for AI data centers. But the crunch would be short-lived as both Meta and Google have also ramped up infrastructure investments heavily. Meta said in November that it was committing more than $600 billion in the U.S. by 2028 for AI technology, infrastructure, and workforce expansion. In the first quarter of this year, Meta also raised its expected capital expenditure for 2026 to a range of $125 billion to $145 billion, citing higher component pricing and additional data center costs for future capacity. However, this doesn't make the company immune to the current dependence on outside suppliers.       My experience in the past with older Windows 11 builds was not great on unsupported machines but I recently used Rufus to put the latest build on a older 5th Gen Core Thinkpad T that we upgraded with a SATA SSD and 8GB of RAM four years ago when hardware was reasonable and it seemed pretty fast and solid. Customer is very happy with the performance and will probably get four more years out of that venerable laptop that he loves so much. Another customer just retired his Dell Studio laptop from 2009 running Windows 10. It got an SSD over 10 years ago and did everything he needed it to for 17 years but he also retired last year and is happy doing everything on his iPad now.
