Who is using Windows 95??? I hope its only used for the Uptime Project (until it hits its 48 days or whatever). And what about that NT4 box in lead what is that used for?

that would be me :)

it's an old 486 laptop...i run a small DC hub on it for my family and friends to trade pictures.

you should add them :)

ok i joined but its a pain in the ass to translate everything .. i activated my account, but when i try to go and update my time via the client i get an error .. also, how come my little uptime image doesnt show my username and such ??

0rd.net blocked it? Or the host of the sigs?

I don't really see why we would be causing too much strain... I don't know how BxBoy's script works but mine only makes one query, and it's just the same as viewing the user's page, but it's without images so it only takes a few k of bandwidth. I hope we're allowed to continue with custom sigs

the problem we have is that the 0rd servers only allow a certain amount of requests each hour and with the scripts that we were running kept requesting the information from the server, but now we are implementing a caching system to cut down on requests on the server.

And on a side note, I wasted a lot of time coding it to get the info from the profile page when I just found out now by looking on the board that they have an XML version :pinch:

Ditto. I didn't know about the XML version, so I was getting the info from the profile page also. Turns out it is not effecient, it took more bandwidth and new requests were made each time an image was created. I'm guessing that's the main reason they blocked us.

Hopefully we can get this "misunderstanding" resolved and they will unblock us. We will switch to the XML version and implement caching, to resolve the request issues and put less of a load on their servers. Bandwidth was not a problem.

We could use you on our team if you're interested. :)
