Word has it per some reviews they just can't help themselves ruining things, insulting intelligence of audience and all. Love to be proven wrong but aside from Q, thought last season was a hot mess. Don't get me started on Disco either. Sheesh. Is it it too much to have good writers? Fans don't make good writers. Showrunners can be a wrecking ball too trying to force their vision of Trek today. Wokeness and profanity thrown on top don't make up for uncompelling scripts.  If the writing isn't tight ...  For goodness sakes make doubly sure the storyline is worthwhile, memorable -- and it's not too late to fix stuff in editing room. Get rid of any and all banality, actors repeating same thing, etc and any winks at fans of the series. Pull some all nighters if you have to. Just saying

How about actually watching the show for yourself and not relying on reviews that sound like they haven't actually watched the show for themselves either?

As funny as that is, you can't say he had to do anything for them if he didn't want to.   I wonder if he'll even make it to the end of the season?

If they're going to give us a 7 show off of this then I can see him dying and her taking over.

They're foreshadowing a bit in Ep1 (you'll make a fine captain one day, and you're right where you need to be, etc..), along with Seven questioning if she made the right move going into Starfleet, it's the perfect storm for Shaw lol.

On the flipside, Shaw might be an ######, but he saw right through Picard and Rikers ###### about the shakedown, I'd have said no too, he saw shenanigans from a light year away with them.

Let's be honest, they'll go into it with such a mindset that their opinion is already formed.

Go for it. Knock yourself out. Don't forget though, you're talking to someone who likes Trek. I won't call you little fan person, since the show will sink or swim based on the final product they put out. I'm going by what they do - AND their track record thus far, not by others opinions. But yes,  hoping for the best because this Picard streaming thing can still turn out well. They were smart enough to get Seven and Q after all, last season. But since others have already seen what we haven't yet, whistling past the graveyard may not be wise.

What in the world is "woke" about Picard now? There's always something triggering you guys.

Rubbish. Take a look at Disco last season for starters. What world do you live in -- do you rip out pages of books too? Cover your ears when something is said you don't like? Deal with the flaws, we're not responsible for their choices after all and we won't pretend it didn't happen. Show us your quality, suits at Paramount+. Produce.

Disco =/= Picard. Your entire premise revolves around that. I'll wait. And please, spare me a lesbian kiss as being woke. Also, before you also say things about Border Patrol (because that's another one that haters on Facebook bring up), keep in mind this is a series based off of a storyline leading up to the Bell riots that Deep Space Nine covered, in fact, I think it's actually around the same time... government corruption and police brutality were extensively covered in that Deep Space Nine episode and expanded upon here. It's clear, just from the tech that Snoog possessed alone, that this isn't a reflection of our actual timeline, unless I missed the memo about genetically enhanced humans being manufactured in labs, along with the advanced AI and drone tech he used, along with NASA sending Humans to Europa... in two years. lol. If that's what's triggering you, I'm curious about your feelings from the 90s era episodes, like "Far Beyond the Stars".

Disco last season was trash, I'l agree with that, and I wouldn't say it was woke, but more just emotional rubbish. It was a terrible season. Boring. Fear based feelings overload. And just like every season of discovery, it's drawn out and then the last two episodes of the season give you whiplash at a resolution. At least they can't retcon sisters and spore drives into TOS era anymore. You guys read into storylines entirely and make assumptions that aren't even inferred, but somehow get triggered over them and go off on these woke tangents. Is the cast more inclusive than past Star Treks? Yes, but that's not a bad thing, and nobody is shoving it down our throats.

Fun read right there, you'll probably pop a blood vessel.

Having said that, I do think Disco has run its course. None of the characters are notable, likable, and the 31st century plot has been a drag at best. Season 5 is suppose to be a more fun, adventurous story this time, which will be a refreshing take over the end of the universe/galaxy plot they've basically been pushing since the getgo. If they can pull that off, maybe I can see a Season 6, otherwise it's time to close up shop on that series and stick to the 25th century this season of Picard is setting and wrapping up Strange New Worlds.

Poor writing is what plagues Discovery, not some imaginary woke issue of inclusivity that people have to go looking for.

This silly woke outrage is spreading not just in Trek, but nearly every major franchise. You types might as well cancel your TV plans if the slightest hint of difference or inclusivity triggers you. Enjoy your re-runs.

I'm over here enjoying a new renaissance of Trek, one thought I thought wouldn't ever happen once Enterprise was canned. We're finally seeing our favorite characters from the 80s and 90s reprise their roles, with fun stories, along with new series to further expand the universe. I'm not sitting there waiting for something to ###### me off because it's different than before or what was. You guys need a chill pill. Just enjoy it, there's plenty to see and watch, and if one series doesn't make you happy, there's plenty of others to pick from.

Why the facepalm? I hope you're not referring to me, otherwise, why not delete the post that started it all anyways? I'm responding to someone's nonsense rant. You guys are incapable of just enjoying a show without finding the littlest detail that triggers an insecurity.

WTH. All that sh*t you brought up is your own, incl the lesbian kiss which I don't have a problem with, but then you seem to think strawman arguments aren't transparent. Trouble listening? Jumping to conclusions shows there may some lack of exp here. Won't hold that against you since I've been there, everyone has. But don't do it writing. Don't make the case that critical opinion has no merit. It ain't true and one can be certain those on receiving end of reviews, don't ignore them either. Why should you? Smart thing is to hope they make last minute changes in Picard to avoid undue embarrassment. Demand quality.

On the topic of the show, season 3 episode 1 is a solid start.  The only thing I can knock it for is how heavy it is with the Easter eggs and nostalgia.

You can't pass judgment on it yet though.  Need a few more episodes to get a better idea of how it will go.

Easter eggs, nostalgia and fan service is what the "true" Trek fans WANT.  Something that reminds them of what came before, that stays true to Gene's vision, and isn't sullied with massive Mary Sue pulling out the "I win" button in the last 5 seconds of every single episode...

So far it's promising, but I'll reserve judgement for a few episodes...

I'm cool with that but they did get pretty blatant with it.

    • Forza Horizon 6 gets another hotfix for one of the game's online modes by Taras Buria Recently, Forza Horizon 6 players discovered an interesting glitch that allowed farming a crazy amount of in-game credits in a few minutes. Playground Games quickly pulled the plug on the exploit by disabling one of the game's online modes, and today, the studio is rolling out another hotfix. In my review, I complained about the game still showering gamers with cars, credits, and wheelspins. As such, earning money in Forza Horizon 6 is not a particularly difficult task. You simply have to play the game, crazy, I know. However, people still found an easier path to becoming a billionaire in Forza Horizon 6. All you had to do was purchase the Hummer EV, install a specific tune, shift in reverse while going at about 15 MPH, hit a wall, and get launched into the stratosphere at the speed of light. While mid-air, launch Eliminator and quickly get eliminated. Boom, the game just awarded you with a few million in-game credits. Initially, Playground Games disabled Eliminator to prevent people from farming credits. Now, following the release of the first balancing update, developers are rolling out a new update that re-enables Eliminator and gives users a free McLaren Sabre as a gesture of goodwill. Here is the changelog: One critical issue remains unpatched, though. There are quite a few reports of the game wiping gamers' saves, and developers are still looking into that. To avoid potential data loss, Playground Games recommends taking one of the steps outlined in a previously published support article.
