Oh, speaking of episode 2. Did anyone else see the eggs and think, "oh god, please don't shoehorn Xenomorphs into the SW universe..."

They were actually based on old concept art from empire strikes backs...

Huh, neat! Although I meant more about how the eggs opened and then we saw the legs all curled up. For me it reminded me straight away of the first Alien film with the face-huggers.

That's cool about ESB, though! I did start thinking about Hoth when the Razor Crest first dipped below the clouds.

And again with an Alien reference, when I realised they were spiders I thought, "NOPE! Nuke that place from orbit."

To quote Mando "That's not saying much"

Mandalorian succeeds because like the earlier Star Wars movies it borrows from successful Westerns and samurai shows. From there it comes up with storylines that are well-paced and with characterization developed across several episodes.

Welp... This weeks episode had a MASSIVE plot dump! Now we know what's going on at last!

I'm glad you do, I'm still a bit lost! Is Gideon trying to transplant midi-chlorians into Stormtroopers?

I read an article that said Gina Carano has got herself into some hot water on Twitter recently, causing some doubts about if she will keep returning in the series. But I guess with the way the episode ended they don't have to keep bringing her back.

That's what it looks like.  Dark Forces Troopers.  Think back to the first ID Engine Star Wars game.

It's more SJW's trying to "cancel" her because of some nonsense to do with her NOT using gender pronouns or something like that.

Pedro Pascal is an awesome actor. Loved him on the Netflix series "Narcos". Here's an interview with The Mandalorian himself.

Well... That was just... AWESOME!!

Spoiler

Dawson looked fantastic as Ahsoka Tano and I felt she did a really good job with her body language etc in portraying the character. They also did a great job of portraying Ahsoka's skill and agility with light sabers.

OMG!

Spoiler

Where is your Master? Where is Grand Admiral Thrawn! That alone can be a spinoff series. It could even show what happened to Ezra!

I suspect Filoni is planning to bring as much as his own "Filoni" verse, and even some of the old EU unto Mandalorian, and probably any spin offs, as he can get away with.

Something else just occurred to me.

Spoiler

Din (the Mandalorian) now has a anti-dark saber weapon. That beskar spear can stop a lightsaber. So it should work on the dark saber.

There is a good chance we will see Luke Skywalker at some point. This is 5 years after Return of The Jedi so technically, Luke, Han, Chewy and all of them are still alive. It will be interesting to see if Mark Hamills makes a cameo appearance.

By the way, Michael Biehn has gotten old. My God.

I hope not! At least in the Mandalorian. Let it happen in a spin off series.

And yea Michael Biehn did really age.

I really loved Michael Biehn as Johnny Ringo on Tombstone. He nailed that character. How time flies. So sad to see him get so old.

So I watched Season 2 Episode 1 and it was super boring and ridiculous. "Give me your armor", "no", "I aint asking", "ok but do me a massive favour first even though you don't need to at all and there is legit no reason for you to have any motivation whatsoever to do so", "ok". Then I look up episode 2 and apparently it's worse... Do I chug along? Episode 1 felt like a chore.

Tip #1.  Never ever ever believe "professional" critics, especially with science fiction. They're all either hacks or SJW a-holes.

Tip #2.  Only continue to watch something if you enjoy it.  If you're bored already, go find something else to entertain you.  Personally, I'm loving it so far, but that's me not you. You do you.

For me, this show is utterly enriching the Star Wars galaxy.  It's familiar yet different and feels like an organic way of bringing some flesh to the weak cannon storylines post ROTJ.  Even the slowest episodes (for me - ep2) I enjoyed more than msot other current sci-fi.

I don't, checked out the user reviews.

That's what I was looking for. See "User Reviews" on imdb are completely useless as I can't verify the source. I know you, and you've said it's good. Which was what I asked, thanks for the tips.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake PS5 and PC timed exclusivity confirmed
      by Asher Madan

During the PlayStation September 2021 Showcase, Sony revealed that it was working with Aspyr — the team that's ported a lot of old Star Wars games to modern consoles lately — including Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake. Despite the overwhelming excitement for the project, there was some confusion about whether the game was a timed exclusive. The main question was if it would end up on other consoles aside from PlayStation 5 (PS5).

The terms "Launch Exclusive" and "Console Launch Exclusive" were thrown around, but it's unclear what they really mean. Luckily, Tully Ackland, the Senior Game Designer of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake, answered that question. A few days ago on Twitter, Ackland confirmed that it's a "timed exclusive for PS5 and PC". This means it'll come to other devices eventually. Ackland didn't discuss other platforms it'd be available on, but we're hoping it hits Xbox Series X|S down the line.

Typically, timed exclusivity lasts around a year. Just look at Rise of the Tomb Raider as an example. Keep in mind that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is still very early in development so we'll probably have to wait many years to get our hands on it. Given the fact that COVID-19 is still affecting how everyone works, there's no way to ascertain an accurate timeline.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake announced for PC and PS5
      by Asher Madan

Today, Sony revealed quite a surprising announcement for PlayStation 5 and PC during its September 2021 Showcase. There's a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake in development. Contrary to expectations, it's being made in partnership with Aspyr instead of the original developer BioWare.

For those unfamiliar with the original, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic takes place a long time before the events of the films.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is one of the best legacy games out there and the remake is still very early in development according to the PlayStation Blog. It seems like it's going to be a few years before we can get our hands on it.

If you haven't played Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, it's available as an Xbox One X Enhanced title on the Microsoft Store for $10. You can also buy it on the platform of your choice since it's out on a number of devices including Android and iOS.

Are you excited for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake? Did you play the original? Let us know in the comments below.

Open-world Star Wars game under development at Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment
      by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe

Massive Entertainment's The Division The newly reborn Lucasfilm Games brand announced its newest project yesterday, with it partnering with Bethesda for an Indiana Jones game. However, the announcements don't stop there, as today, the Disney-owned brand revealed that it is working with Ubisoft for a new Star Wars game.

The only major Star Wars games to arrive in recent years has been out of Electronic Arts and its share of development studios thanks to a multi-year deal made in 2013 with Disney. However, the announcement today of a Ubisoft title may mean the deal exclusivity is no longer active, or at least it won't be renewed.

“EA has been and will continue to be a very strategic and important partner for us now and going forward,” said Sean Shoptaw, the senior vice president of Global Games and Interactive Experiences at Disney. “But we did feel like there's room for others.”

Described as an open world title, this mysterious Star Wars game is under development at Massive Entertainment, the Swedish developer that's most known for its The Division series of action RPGs since 2016. The studio also developed the hit 2007 RTS game World in Conflict.

The development is said to be still in a very early stage, with Massive currently hiring more faces for the project. It will be using the studio's own Snowdrop engine, the same one that is powering The Division franchise. Judging by these two newly announced projects, there may be more Disney IP-related game announcements incoming soon as the company taps more publishers and developers.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order's next-gen console optimization update detailed
      by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe

Respawn Entertainment's popular Star Wars action game from 2019, Jedi: Fallen Order, today received a new update, and it comes heralding a large performance benefit for the new generation of consoles. This is not a new edition of Jedi: Fallen Order, it is an update for the backward compatibility-supported original versions for providing better frame rates and resolutions on the newer hardware.

The provided improvements are not identical across all platforms or console models. Starting with Xbox, the Series S performance has been boosted to 60FPS from 45FPS. Meanwhile on the Xbox Series X, the game provides two modes with separate performance targets. The Performance Mode will offer 60FPS play on 1080p to 1440p dynamic resolution. The non-performance normal mode will come with 4K post-processing and dynamic resolution between 1512p to 2160p (4K).

On the other side, the PlayStation 5 only comes with one graphics tier, which also brings the frame rate up from 45FPS to 60FPS, but has 1440p post-processing and only 1200p resolution play support (up from the PlayStation 4's 810p to 1080p dynamic resolution).

The optimization update 1.12's full patch notes can be seen here. It should now be available for all console players to download, including those who are playing it via EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions.

Minecraft gains Star Wars DLC themed after original trilogy and The Mandolorian
      by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe

Minecraft is no stranger to crossovers, and the latest one to be introduced to the behemoth block-based sandbox title is from a galaxy far, far away. The official Minecraft Star Wars DLC Mojang Studios unveiled today has skins, a licensed soundtrack, flyable vehicles, locations, and much more from the sci-fi universe.

The new Mash-up Pack contains content from the original trilogy - A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi -, and The Mandalorian series. This includes Star Wars-themed UI and audio elements, skins for players, mobs, and items, plus a pre-built map full of iconic locations that present various scenes from the franchise.

Moreover, Mojang has included X-wings, Tie Fighters, and the Razor Crest as flyable ships that let players jump to locations like Tatooine, Hoth, Endor, Nevarro, and the Death Stars.

The Star Wars DLC for Minecraft is now available for purchase via the Minecraft Marketplace. Also, this is not the only Microsoft and Disney partnership that has cropped up recently, as the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription currently offers a 30-day trial of Disney+ for free.
