The first Minecraft Live presentation of 2026 is kicking off next week with information on the upcoming Tiny Takeover content update and other reveals.

The biannual Minecraft Live presentation from Mojang is returning next week. Like in previous years, that means fans of the sandbox game are about to get a lot of details regarding upcoming content updates as well as "go behind the scenes, meet awesome guests, and discover exciting stuff to come," according to the Microsoft-owned developer.

The first Minecraft Live of 2026 will kick off on Saturday, March 21st, 2026. The broadcast will begin at 10AM PT / 1PM ET, and it's slated to run for about an hour. A 30-minute community preshow will precede the event. As for where to catch it, the show will be available across the official Minecraft YouTube and Twitch channels of Mojang.

As for what to expect, the Minecraft Game Drop that will bring many more baby animals into the mix should be the show's main focus. Dubbed Tiny Takeover, it should finally get a release date at the show. From the currently announced features of the update, other than dozens of baby mobs (including tamable and wild animals, villagers, zombies, horses, and more) with custom sounds and animations, it will add Golden Dandelions to keep mobs from aging past babies and craftable Name Tags.

The trailer that Mojang released, seen below, to hype the occasion hints at some "Secret Stuff" outside of the upcoming Tiny Takeover Game Drop information too, which may include reveals for updates coming later in 2026.

Outside of the front-end updates, Mojang also recently announced that it is making a major change to the Minecraft Java Edition. OpenGL is finally being left behind on the PC-exclusive edition to make way for the Vulkan graphics API. While this could mean a big performance and stability bump for the game, it's not great news for the modding community, at least initially.
