The teaser shows what looks to be an industrial complex under heavy rain, hinting at a planet being the setting for the upcoming sequel.

It has been almost 12 years since Creative Assembly released Alien: Isolation, a survival horror game based on the Alien film series. The title was a big hit, selling over two million copies within a year, and is considered by fans as one of the best horror games ever made. However, the studio, being busy with all its Total War games, only announced that it was returning to the series a couple of years ago. Now, it seems a full reveal is almost here, as Creative Assembly dropped a cryptic teaser for the unnamed project earlier today.

Being a teaser, not much information can be gathered by what's being shown. You can watch the 25-second-long video below. Named "False Sense Of Security," it shows a heavy metallic door unlocking and opening to reveal what looks to be an industrial location under heavy rain. An old-school pay phone can be seen in the distance. Following a quick cut to the studio logo, the close shot of the phone shows the word "Emergency" plastered on the top of it.

Judging by the landscape, unlike the original Alien: Isolation, which primarily takes place on the Sevastopol space station, the sequel may be taking players to a planet for their alien adventures. The title could be following in the footsteps of the movies, where the second entry leaves the spaceship setting behind.

For those unfamiliar with the original survival horror game, its story follows Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Alien's Ellen Ripley, who is attempting to find her missing mother. The first-person experience has players avoiding the Xenomorph as the primary enemy, where the motion tracker and evasion tactics must be used to survive encounters.

As previously announced, the new project is being helmed by Al Hope, the first game's creative director, who called it a dream project of the development team.
