I just noticed that mine says "Windows XP Media Center Edition" as well, and I'm running XP Home

Huh I dual boot with mandrake and the mandrake boot loader lists it as Windows XP Tablet PC editon.. Im using XP home.. so strange...

i just used replacer to replace the sysdm.cpl and uxthemedll :p

oh and stable as rock so far, firefox crashes but thats understandable, ff is not final yet so ive uninstalled it and am using IE again :) - may try mozilla 1.6 as thats better compatible

Just wondering for those that installed it, did you have to reconfigure your settings for sharing a printer?

Also how well does the IE popup blocker work..?

the popup blocker works pretty well. shows a small notification when a popup is blocked and lets you configure your options for which sites are safe and which ones aren't for popups.

come on guys , .....does anyone know how to remove the tekst evolution copybuild 2600 xpsp2.rc1 from the dekstop, somehow the old regto remove the desktop version dont seem to work for this build, anyone know hoe to remove this

I don't have that text, is the WinBeta release any different than the public one?

SEE?!?!? Why does it download perfect for you over 56K (in one go i mgiht add) it wont download for me, and I'm on 512k ADSL??

Perhaps I should take these 7 attempts as a bad omen and just give up.

This is a joke, seriously, how the heck does it stop at say 92%, it wont resume, yet I am fully able to start a completely new download (which will also stop at between 50% - 92%).

the 100% CPU usage bug is still here in SP2 v2096

when you right click on an icon in my computer while having the fading option enabled, your CPU will be kept at 100% in use

this was solved ages ago, simply turn off some visual options like animations and things

this was solved ages ago, simply turn off some visual options like animations and things

yeah that's why i said when the fading option is ON...i would of thought that they would of fixed this by now in this service pack...

,Mar 22 2004, 10:06] yeah i downloaded it twice for my other computer just to test it out

Using: Flashget

why would you download with IE you know thats not resumable... lol

I've tried it 3 times on GetRight, twice using Firebird, and twice using FlashGet... thats why!

So... IE was my last hope in getting this download to work.

Actually I'm on the phone to my ISP now, they're having similar problems downloading it, so it might be a problem with my ISP. The download started at 2MB per sec, and is slowly dropping down below 300kb/sec on their connection.

They're gonna ring me back shortly to tell me how the download went.

    • We do it all the time on our IT Service desk mailbox to add a reference, in the subject line, once it's been logged and then it's filed into the appropriate sub-folder. Other companies probably do the same thing.
    • "No. The "New Outlook for Windows" does not support non-cloud mailboxes (such as on-premises Exchange servers). Furthermore, because the New Outlook effectively functions as a web-based client, it requires all connected accounts—even standard IMAP or POP accounts—to route and cache data through Microsoft's cloud servers. You can verify the accepted account setups using the Microsoft Supported Account Types Guide." Built to fail "New" Outlook is basically just webmail in a window wrapper and it's usefulness reflects that.
