Damn they are sexy. I really really want one, but I really can't afford it. I only get about $200 AUD a week,

Well, you don't have to worry much about affording it, prices won't go up a cent until the time you decide to buy one..but 'when' can be an issue ;)

i was thinking about picking one of these up, but my main cause of concern is the 1600x1200 native resolution... don't get me wrong, i prefer that, but being that i only have a 9800, i don't think i will be playing games in 1600x1200,

my question is what happens or how severly does it happen when you try to run a game in say 1024x768, or 1280x1024?

i don't want to spend all that money to have to play hl2 and cs source on my old crt (dual mon config :))

Well there is an option to zoom out if you set it to a lower res so there will be no interpolation. There will just be a border around the image.

so it wouldn't look "funny"? just have a border around it? i can deal with that..

(ps, a few digital pics of what a game looks like when you change the resolutions would be nice *nudge nudge :))

I have this monitor and run games/emulators in 640x480 and 1024x768 with a Radeon 9600 Pro. The image still looks sharp and amazing! This might depend on your video card though... not sure. It might look a bit more blury than a CRT.. but I haven't had any complaints :)

I've read that the 2001FP has a lot of problems when running in DVI mode, have you all experienced any problems?

It has color problems when running in VGA mode, not DVI. DVI is native so there's nothing to convert signal wise.

I was wondering if this monitor is exactly same as this dell one:

http://211.20.183.103/www/front/benqmain.a...ootId=undefined

Forget the way it looks, that's different, but I am not sure if the specifications are same for both the monitors, that one is by Benq...and I think Benq makes this Dell monitor..so it got me wondering.

I did it!! bought mine today! I couldn't pass up the price they currently have and the free shipping. Would have been better if California tax wasn't crazy...but all in all, I can't wait for this monitor to get here. going to be a long 3-5 days!!! :-) Thanks for the reviews and inputs that everybody has been posting on here.....I wouldn't have bought with out them. :D

Ahh okay, I guess I got confused that way.

According to staind (and the FCC) the current crop of 2001FPs is still benq.

Yeah, that's what I thought staind said too, but i wasn't fully sure. If the model I pasted indeed is the same model, I might think of gettingthat instead since they sell those here. :)
