Were we ever even able to prove that they were reading user's emails?

Send HTML mails linking a GIF webbug on your server to a random account (from/to YGP) you're sure that will not be read, for instance a dummy Hotmail account. Then watch the webservers referrer log for requests for the webbug. Since noone read the mail but the webbug being requested, you've proof. Antivirus tools don't download and scan images and the like.

I didn't read the entire TOS and Privacy Policy, but it had all the basics, but it said a lot about how they would terminate accounts whenever they wanted, they would periodically clean out emails and could block emails from wherever they wanted.

Here is my contribution to the Amy thing:

"Amy"

It has come to my attention that you are unaware of what

"International Law" is. Let me explain. A long time ago, when the

first United Nations was set upon and agreed to, the countries

involved decided that a court should be established to quote "Maintain

law and order throughout the world unbiased and fairly" unquote.

The United Nations has since established a website wherein you can

search through their site on decisions of International Law as well as

get a better feel for it. http://www.un.org/law/#

Now for me to clarify, since your "company" exists in multiple

instances of countries participating in the United Nations, you are

infact in violation of multiple instances of Internationa Law as well

as violating numerous privacy rights of users who are living in those

countries.

If you don't mind, I'd much rather skip all the non-sense and

name-calling and just get right down to it. There's really no need for

you to call people names, vulgarize them or threaten them with

"account deletion". That doesn't bother me or anyone else of sound

ethical mind. What you do, is illegal and in time - someone will show

you that.

I am sure she'll demonize my instance of the word "International" that was misspelled improperly, I should expect nothing less of a man who pretends to be a woman with little intellect. But as they say in the real-world; "The Game is afoot".

I didn't read the entire TOS and Privacy Policy, but it had all the basics, but it said a lot about how they would terminate accounts whenever they wanted, they would periodically clean out emails and could block emails from wherever they wanted.

Well then, it's the users fault for not reading the TOS. They don't read the TOS when they sign up and then they complain when they get their account deleted, read and so forth?

I apologize for my oblivious ignorance, but I am very interested.

I was wondering what arose to make this ?Amy? character to admit to reading people?s emails. I think I got the part where, someone emailed her (her being the webmaster, and or spoke-women) complaining about what they, she, has done, and they terminated their account because of it, and did so sounding like a punk 17 year old?

They offer an unlimited account, yet give them selves? access to delete emails to keep with this promise? And they think they can get away with breaking international laws by registering a domain in Malaysia?

Well then, it's the users fault for not reading the TOS. They don't read the TOS when they sign up and then they complain when they get their account deleted, read and so forth?

I never even signed up for an account.

I never even signed up for an account.

I wasn't directing the comment at you, I was quoting what you said about their TOS. Most people (Including me) don't read the whole TOS when they sign up for a service or install a program. I'm sure if they would of never signed up for YGP if they read the TOS, instead they are calling foul now.

Class Action Lawsuit requires lawyers.

Lawyers require $$$.

Maybe one of our fellow neowinians is a lawyer...? If not, we need $$$, and lot's of it (because you know those lawyers wipe their a**es with $100 bills, and their s*it is pretty messy)!

:-P

maybe my avatar has some money to spare ;-)

lol,SUE SUE SUE

How can you sue when you agreed to this when you signed up, not their fault you didn't read the TOS. (Note 'you' meaning everyone in general that signed up) Not to mention they are in a different country. This is happening in our own country: (If you live in the states) https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=184759 Besides, if it did happen and you did sue, what would you get from it? Their site down? It's already down, for now. Some money? Doesn't look like the are making money, Revenge? That's childish..

The guy who runs the You've Got Post system is an absolute scumbag. He likes to use aliases - his current webmaster, Amy, is almost definitely a front. His name is Greg Lloyd Smith. Type his name into Google, see what pops up.

After unsuccessfully trying to take a company called Frugalescrow public (total loss) he went on to bigger things. MPC Trading, the company allegedly behind Youvegotpost, also dabbles in small time porn sites and whatever else he thinks can turn a quick buck. All this is fueled by officialspin.com, the 'press release' site he uses to try to promote the companies he backs, and to flame people who look at what he does with a careful eye.

GLS is the genius who originally conceived of registering www.amazon.com.gr in Greece, and then tried to sell it back to Amazon for millions. He was sued by Amazon using the RICO (Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organizations) stautes, and the URL now belongs to Amazon.

GLS also tried to sue Nike, but nothing came of that either.

This guy is a nasty piece of work. He is also a complete failure as a businessman.

If you do a little research on You've Got Post you'll find that they claim to be based in the UK, yet their business name isn't registered there. Their press releases claim that they are in Malaysia, and their actual servers are located in the US. Judging from "her" emails, the ISP that "Amy" uses is from Greece...not really a surprise considering that GLS is from Greece (hence his registration of the amazon.com.gr domain years back.)

Add to that that their "administrator" "Amy" has admitted to reading emails, and claims that its not illegal because "they aren't US based", and even claimed that there was no such thing as international law!

These are scammers trying to get a quick buck. Use Yahoo or GMail.

this guy reminds me of Lex Luther

glad i didn't sign up... to be honest.. when hotmail releases it's 250mb.. that will be more then enough... i keep it under 2mb now.. how am i ever gonna reach 250 :s plus got yahoo, gmail, and my own, @l2-designs.com

    • Sorry to be that guy but, Given Trump won again even after a failed first term it would appear attacking the other side is how to gain Government in America. Voters when it came down to it didn't give a s**t about those Democratic achievements and voted for Trump over an intelligent, qualified mixed race woman. We need to face up to this uncomfortable reality. There are more Americacan voters who support racism and christian bigotry along with defending and supporting pedophilia, adjudicated rapists, multiple time convicted felons etc than those who don't. Btw, that is how the world sees America now. Not that Trump voters care as they attempt to cocoon themselves in a white supremacy bubble.
    • That's not clickbait. Clickbait is headlines like, "You'll never guess what this person looks like now" for example. For goodness sake, take a look around the internet if you think this is clickbait. How do sites survive if people don't click through to articles? How many people in all honesty would have clicked this if it had your suggested headline? You and those upvoting your post won't be happy until the web is a couple of hundred websites all behind a paywall.
