Bummer that it does not include a Dock, but it does come with the USB and FireWire cables. Sounds like a pretty nice package, what with the new battery life. Lacks a user replaceable battery though, and that is a bummer. $100+ to get the battery replaced is a ton of cash for a $300 device.

I don't like. I'd stick with a G3. Some things on the new one just make me say yuck.

Out of curiosity, what things make you say yuck about the 4th Gen iPods?

I have read and heard that the mini's are not nearly as durable as the full-on iPod, but other than that and the battery expense, I have not heard too many bad things. But I'm not that knowledgeable about them really, so wanted to ask.

Thanks,

BK

I currently use a Creative MP3 player.. thinking of making the change to iPod...

I was just wondering, if I use Windows XP and I don't have a FireWire port or the iPod dock.

What are the options I can take to charge the iPod? Only by the AC adapter(plug in mains) and USB 2.0?

Will I need to purchase any extra accessories?

At the moment, now I'm not sure if I'm too sure about if are that real great. To me, they look really plastic-y especially the scroll and buttons as they are now not touch buttons. If I do buy one, I hope I don't regret it.

It looks ultra thin compared to the third generation. And in my opinion, I thought the third generation was pretty thing already. It sucks how the play options don't have backlit though. Most of the features you named seem to be only minor updates, only real reason I would want a fourth generation is the twelve hour lifespan which really interests me.

    • Nvidia is your issue more so than linux itself. I did used it for a while with an old 1060 3gb, but using propietary drivers was kind of messy.

    • The current Statcoungter desktop numbers has Google Chrome increasing it's market share this past year and currently commanding 75% share. Everybody else is just making up the numbers with even MS Edge losing 3% this past year and has dipped just below 10% share which is staggering considering it's default on every Windows deviced purchased. If these numbers are correct that terrible Edge number is both devastating and embarrassing for MS especially when you add in the terribly low Bing market share. This leads me to ask a couple of questions as the default browser holding just less than 10% market share seems really weird. It used to be that all Chromium browsers were being counted as Google Chrome in some cases.  Is this still happening? Do these high Google Chrome numbers contains some Edge user numbers?
