i know the difference here is that Edge is first party browser, but the spirit of this complaint is that the user’s choice should be respected. As in, you can ask, once and only once, then respect the user’s choice.
Google is always asking me to install Chrome, so they should also have to be compliant with this rule even if they are not a first party browser.
Should be like in Linux, use whichever however you want. Not sure if Apple with MacOS is less egregious but with iOS its made great strides on that regard.
