steam backup utility with steam packages teh backups with a .exe extention so it should put them where tehy need to go already.

Could someone please please pm me how to extract all the files once i've gotten them backed up onto dvd  :cry:

Now I'm at the stage where the crane made my new buggy go upside down :( all I can hear is "Get that car upright, and get the hell out of here"...I would if I could. Can't figure out where the controls are for that crane (so I can turn the car upside down by myself)...quite annoying really.

Well, basically I am amazed at the experince HL2 is delevering me, but I dont have a nice graphics card that I would like to have (X700 coming in early next week) so I am going to stop progressing thru at this time. HOWEVER -- In the E3 Demo, I LOVED that Blue Physics/Gravity Gun, the one where he lifted the dead person up and so fourth, tossed him around and such.

I heard that you can aqquire this wepaon at the end of the game, but do to reasons stated above I dont want to soil the experince.

Is there anyway I and others can get this nifty tool BEFORE I reach the end? Im not sure which it is, if it is the "weapon_physgun" or "weapon_physcannon" but none of them bring it to my wepaon list, only the Oranged Beam Manipulator or whatever its technically called.

Any insight on getting the blue gravity gun before reaching the endis greatly appericated!

YES this happened to be for the first 2 hours of gameplay.... i'm way past it now though.

UPDATE: The codec "fix" made no change, however, there are some CFG file fixes which I've tried and am using now, found here:

Bugs? My experience has been bug-free thus far.... Runs flawlessly

UPDATE AGAIN: Well, those CFG changes didn't help either. I don't get it, and it rather ticks me off. Brand new PC, fresh install of Windows, the only thing that's on here is Intel drivers, latest Forceware, latest Audigy 2 drivers, and HL2. Why dost it sucketh muchly?

Only Valve will tell.

And they'd better do it soon.

My friend has the same problem, it occurs everytime a new sound is used in the game. He lowered the visual quality down and the stuttering decreased, but has not stopped. He just got the top of the line Nvidia card though, so he should not have to do that. I am going to try the MP3 codec disable thing mentioned on the steam forum.

youll find car batteries aroudn the place, grab one and put it in its place in the building (there are 3, 1 youll find in a car, othe runder a bathtub, 3rd is already there

any ideas?
