@hunters among you

Kalgan, a Blizzard dev

We're planning to shrink the min range on ranged attacks to reduce or eliminate the "dead zone". The only point to the dead zone was to ensure the min range on ranged weapons was enough such that ranged weapon attacks wouldn't be used while also being melee'd (at least by mobs... players have a bit of slush built in).

Thanks for the good news.

You are SO naive.

Been playing the game since December 2004. 5 lvl 70s most with tier 5.

I think I know what I am talking about. The game is the same ol ****, sorry to say.

Take for example daily quests. Same thing, every day. Grinding, 5 man heroics, same thing, every day.

Just a fact of life, thats how the game was designed and I think the creators are looking for new ideas.

It doesn't take 5 lvl 70 characters and 3 years of WoW experience to say that. Everyone knows it's a grind fest, but it's up to the player to the decide whether he'll play casually or go hardcore. If it wasn't a grind fest, and required skill (I'm not saying parts of WoW don't require skill, but usually it's TIME > SKILL) then lots of people would complain.

Wonder how many times this has been posted in this thread.....

If you are sick of it, dont play it! Its that simple, but dont come into threads where folk are enjoying the game looking to be a buzz kill.

If you don't think wow is "doing the same ol same ol day in and day out" you must be playing a different game =/

umm ive been in wow since closed beta 1 on the same server i have 7 lvl 70's so please do preach to me

its simple if you dont like the game STOP ****ING PLAYING nobody is forcing you to play . so say the game is dieing because you dont like it is just plain stupid

So nearly three years later, and all that time spent, you're just realizing it's the same thing everyday? That's pathetic. Of course it's the same thing, have you played ANY other MMO's? THEY ARE ALL THE SAME (of course each one has something slightly different; interface, communications, and theme). That's like saying the makers of 1.6 shouldn't have made source, I mean, after-all it is the same thing, right? New guns and a new game engine, but even then, the overall "mission" and mission completion is always the same.

The game only becomes the "same ol ****" everyday because it's all you do. The game never ends.

You still stand as naive. I hate using the fact that there are 9 million subscribers, and the fact that they aren't even releasing the expansion pack until Q3 '08, but come on. You're just a negitive nancy. Why would they wait another entire year if the majority of people were sick of the game, and the creators weren't feeling like the expansion would bring a new load of content for gamers old, and new alike?

You can argue that the game is going nowhere, and say it's the same all the time, but the numbers don't lie.

Nicely put.

Moving on tho anyone here taken out Hydross the Unstable, were just running thru SSC now and after the easy easy fight that is the Lurker Below, were now looking at Hydross.

Any tips etc

Thank you. ;)

Similar question; There is a dragon in Duskwood, I forget the name of the place, but I'm pretty sure the dragon's name is Taerar. I have a picture at home, and the school internet blocks all "game related" sites. A kid in my chem class told me it's a level 500 elite.

Anyway, I was wondering, is there a quest required, or can you just raid the dragon (if you're feeling lucky) with a 25 man group?

Thank you. ;)

Thats one of the 4 Emerald Dragons. Theres a portal in Duskwood, Hinterlands, Ashenvale, and Feralas. I believe they're on a 7 day spawn timer. The portals they guard lead into the Emerald Dream.

They're level 60 outdoor raid bosses like Azuregos or Kazzak back when he was in Azeroth. You can have as much as 40 people in a raid. As for the "level 500 elite"....technically raid bosses don't have levels. The "skull" icon simply means raid boss and they scale with level. A raid boss's level is always your level + 3 and certain stats scale.

(wish i could give you some good links to look at, but most is blocked here at work :p)

If you managed to kill Lurker, Hydross shouldn't be hard for you now after the last nerf (the requirement for resistance gear is much lower cause adds hit about 60% of the hit points they used to).

Basically, it's an easy fight but has little room for error. The fight itself doesn't require awesome tanking, awesome dps, nor awesome healing, but no one can totallly f... up.

Get 2 tanks with full resistance gear, one for nature phase, the other one for frost phase. They'll have to take care of transitions, and if it's their first time doing that boss, they probably WILL screw it up on first try. Let 'em learn how to do the transitions, and most importantly, your dps mustn't pull aggro on transitions. If DPSers pull aggro, Hydross will run to them and spawn additional adds (depending on where the DPS stood). Having 2 hunters can be good, so each of them builds up initial aggro for the tanks using Misdirection.

Have 1 or 2 tanks tank the adds. As I mentioned, the adds do far less damage than before, so whoever is tanking them won't need full resistance gear. Once the add tanks get enough aggro, have the AoErs do their job and kill the adds.

Hydross has a 10 minute enrage timer, and dps really shouldn't be a problem (last time at Hydross, we downed him 3 minutes and 45 seconds before enrage)...

    • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
