I really liked the wraith gate quest line but I'm not sure it's best in game.

For me "balance of light and shadow was particularly memorable". I'd also say the death knight started chain is up there - especially for people that knew about naxx bosses when they started. Gothicks "old habbits die hard" crack is gold.

While not really a quest itself, you did have to complete an annoying chain to summon ragneross and that is still one of the best points in the game.

The "LOL lore" that happens during/after kil'jaeden is awesome once you can actually pay attention to it during the encounter.

Any relation to Sylvanas (EU) Method ?

I don't think so. I'm not even an officer in our guild, just posting here to try and help out a bit. But I'd say 90% of the guild are transfers from other servers so I can't really say if any are related to Method on the EU servers.

Hakkar US? That was my first server when I x-fered off it 10 months ago because it was a crappy server. :p If you played on Hakkar from Jan-June last year you would remember Reign. :)

Ah, well they opened up free transfers to it because it was dead, and I took a chance and moved to Hakkar. I'll admit it was really dead when I first got here cause I transferred there the first day free transfers were open, but it's a different story now. I'm glad I moved here. :)

I just started playing again a few days ago, man it's such an addiction. I'm leveling a Death Knight now and it's hella fun. I expect lots of "noob" whispers because I'm making it my new main but after 70+ levels with my druid, I just want something different. I always liked the idea of Dark or Shadow Knight from EverQuest, and hey I play the game the way I want to have fun and screw anyone who says otherwise! :D

Exactly. All that matters is that you're having fun. It sucks that DKs are getting a bad rap from all the people playing them when they have no clue what to do, but when you play the class well you get remembered for it. Just keep doing what you're doing, you'll be fine (Y)

Bolded part goes for any class. DK's getting the brunt of it, because it's an OP class that's the new flavor for people. Many do not know how to play it, so essentially becoming the new huntard. Everyone wants/does play it but few actually play it.

So I have a :

60 Mage

60 DK

70 Hunter

I'm not sure which of those I should level first. I'm leaning towards the DK but I always been awed by mages. The hunter I think would be the most boring to level. I'm also thinking of leveling a priest from scratch.

I've got my priest and death knight to 80 now. Priest was sort of a blur because I was racing the clock. It went fast enough, I could solo group quests until I got to ice crown and downtime wasn't a problem.

Death knight leveled like a machine: no real down time, not too much trouble with PVP, I've been running dungeons as I become the appropriate level - but I've got 3 real life friends (neighbors) that I can call on when I need a group so I haven't run into the whole "yet another DK that can't play" accusations yet.

Mages are great fun when you can AOE grind: no other class has nearly the same capacity for it. On the whole I don't like the downtime (mana) compared to other classes which is why mine is stuck at 70 or 71.

I've talked to a few people here in the past about it -- but what would be the interest in a 10-man neowin guild? Running content once or twice a week with the "hard core" mind set so as not to waste time. I'm not terribly interested in being hardcore with my priest's guild when uldar comes out, but I absolutely hate that casual guilds typically mean spending 4+ hours in naxx when it should take 2.5.

I am. Completely.

Lets do it.

I can't guarantee but you tell me the server and I'll roll a toon. I got my one alliance toon that is 80 and none of my alts there I'll bother to level. Got real life friends on one server wanting me to go horde there (shandris) and another friend wanting me to go horde (tenears) for him.

But an neowin guild ****s and giggles sounds great like fun, though I dunno if we will be able to have neowin exclusive members to function unless we set up are raid nights to not interfere with anyone elses or some wicked scheduling.

Either way I'd be in and more than happy to roll a toon.

Just for future reference:

I have an 80 Hunter on Winterhoof - US.

Not in the best of gear, but some epics.

I'm willing to re-roll a new toon on a another server, or transfer.

However, I also would need to reactivate my subscription.

I only want to do this if we take it seriously.

I like the idea as well... The only thing is I'd need to make a DK because I just can't level another from 1-80... I just get too burnt out and I know I wouldn't be able to do it. But if I can start with a DK, I don't think I'll have a problem getting to 80. Besides, it's my best class anyway.

Is this game fun to play alone? I'm considering delving into it, but I'd have nobody to play with. Worth it for lone gamers?

Join a guild and you won't be alone anymore. :)

What faction would people want to play for the guild?

Can I purchase WoW online and digitally download it? I don't want to have to go out and buy the box (lol lazy), and I don't want to have to order it and wait for it to arrive.

UK question by the way.

Edit: Can I get the trial and then just pay for pre-paid cards once it runs out or is the trial not the full game?

Yes.

The trial is the full game, it's only limited to what you can do with the game in 10 days.

So, no extra downloading if you purchase more time after your trial.

Unless of course you buy the expansions..but, yeah.

    • Looks like the 7.1 is fake effects, can it at least do real 5.1? It says 'virtual 7.1' in all descriptions.
    • You can't, if you didn't notice, it doesn't support surround at all, it's right in the spec list.
    • Hi — I’m always interested in soundcards. Like displays, I just want to know I’m getting as much clean “sonic juice” into my brain as possible as the years take their toll. I’m not entirely sure what to take away from this review, though. It doesn’t really tell me whether the AE‑X is a good product or who it’s actually for. Most of what I’m getting is: there’s a driver to install, here’s what it looks like, and here’s what’s in the box. There’s a lot of emphasis on the SPDIF input. When you mention not needing to switch headphones between console and PC — does that mean the PC has to be powered on just to pass audio through? That seems like a fairly big waste of energy. Is this more something a streamer would use alongside a capture card? How are you testing the sound? (Also, you might want to clarify that you’re using the headphones in wired mode when you mention they’re wireless.) You mention the lack of EMI shielding — how much real‑world difference does that make compared with typical motherboard audio? On multi‑channel: what exactly isn’t supported? Does this mean Windows spatial audio (Dolby Atmos for Headphones, DTS Headphone:X, etc.) won’t work, or just that the card itself doesn’t decode surround formats? And are there any true multi‑driver “surround” headphones left that would even use that? You also highlight support for high‑impedance headphones — but what does that translate to in practice? How does it compare to driving the same headphones from a normal device, and does it make any difference for everyday, lower‑impedance models? In short, who is this card actually targeted at?
    • Yes, THIS is wordart, not the styling that can now be done. Wordart was all about those curvy words, that you could change the path of, like making words go around a circle. I don't think it can be done now, right?
    • Just saw a news report of a Waymo driving into a flooded road.
